Xperia Play to be exclusive launch device for Gameloft's BackStab action game
It has begun. The Xperia Play, a device that promises to take mobile gaming to its next level of awesomeness, just scooped itself a one-month exclusive on a brand new action adventure game. BackStab, produced by mobile game makers Gameloft, has a "free roaming 3D environment" (old school 3D, not the fancy new stuff), filled with some decidedly yummy-looking graphics and what appears to be an emphasis on battling multiple enemies at once. All we're seeing here reminds us of desktop or console games, not the usual mobile fare, so we're most intrigued to see this game in action. It'll hit all of Android eventually, but for the first 30 or so days after its launch in Q2 2011, it'll be only on Sony Ericsson's Xperia Play.

Just been on the phone to Carphonewarehouse asking about the Arc, when the sales guy who I was talking to, informed me if i was interested that the have the Play in stock from today. Sim-free he told me it would be £524.
Just thought I'd let you guys know, incase one or two of you might be interested.
EDIT: Looks as if the sales person I spoke to me got it all wrong. Play is on pre order and should have delivery next week. Called and spoke to another member of staff and this is how I found out.
Sorry if got anyone's hopes up.

Yeah, there's no stock in yet.
I'll be getting a play on the launch night in London, but before then there is www.platformexpos.com in Hull where I'll be on the SE stand demoing the handset, so I'll have a whole day with one. If people have questions and things they want me to check out, I'll try do it!

I've just realised why those videos above made me laugh so much. In a couple of them she reminds me of Miss Piggy from The Muppet Show (yeah, I'm showing my age). Don't tell her though.
