Anyone can confirm this?
With the information below which found on the SE Developer's site :
"With the release of Xperia™ arc, Sony Ericsson is the first handset manufacturer to have integrated support for ANT+. The ANT+ support will also be introduced in the Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X8, Xperia™ X10 mini, and Xperia™ X10 mini pro through software upgrades in Q1 2011."

Does this mean that the X10 line already had the +Ant chipset and just needed software activation? Or did find a way to use their bt chip to function w/ +Ant products?

@serge
Yes, the update will add multitouch. Its still unconfirmed whether the other Xperias, besides ths x10, will get multitouch or not. The minis sport a clearpad 2000 solution afaik, so atleast dual touch is supported. It all depends on SE whether they decide to implement it for the minis and x8.
@jplacson
all the xperias, except the x10 has the reqd hardware. The X10 will not get ANT+ support.
@mhyke
Few have got it. Others are still waiting. Same old SE way of staggered updates.
I wouldnt worry about it though. All it has is a few bug fixes. The Q1 update is the one to look out for. It will have multitouch,ANT+ support, improved timescape with scrolling tiles etc, volume fix for x10 is also expected.
In all probability, it will be the last major update for the current xperias.

That's sad, the phone is like a year old only. A 2 year plan had been nice. And since many (here in sweden anyways) buy there phones on 18-24months plan, and after just half the time the phone is "dead" and wount get any more updates and you still have 12 months left to pay for an outdated product ( yeah i know everything gets old, but in this case it could be maintained for at least a year). i feel deceived.

I agree with you mate. I wouldnt have invested in the mini pro and the x8 if I knew support would end abruptly.I would be lying if I said I wasn't expecting gingerbread.

what does x8 screen have? is it the same as the minis? or is cheaper than the mini's and it will not support dual touch?
my X8 is just a month OLD, after hearing the news, now i feel my X8 is very very outdated
X8 was just released 4-5months ago, compared to that X10i and the 2 mini's. and all at the same time was just updated to 2.1, but 2.1 was already available late 1st quarter of 2010
so sad
