Hi friends,

I really need help from you guys now.

i have SE Vivaz and found there is some problme in Display, hence I gave to Authorized Service Center and the took the phone and informed me that the problme will be resolved and it covers warranty. After 15 days yesterday i wwent to service center to take delivery of my phone.

I found another problem in my handset that there is line inside the display which is new and NOT before when I gave it to service. More ever the side panel is not properly closed (not properly opened hence there is screw driver marks around the edges) and the light inside is visible to eyes where dust can fall inside easily.. I was shocked about both the new problems and asked about the same to service engineer. He is saying that once the phone is opened it will not fit again and cannot close the panel properly and I asked about the line in the display he said “If you want to remove the line from display I will have delivery the product with the original problem what you had, is that okay??” I did not (Cannot) accept that and said “I want my phone in working condition without any defect or damage”. He asked me to come back tomorrow and collect the phone. I am not sure about my phone condition tomorrow, may have some other new problem!!!!

please give some suggestions guys.. what i have to do regarding the Side-panel which is damaged by screw driver marks. I hate the phone with scratches.

i am looking forward replies to this post with good suggestions.. please......

Is this Sony Ericsson themselves you've sent your phone to (as in you contacted se first and they gave you the address to their authorised repairer) or is the a company where you can simply walk in and give them your phone for repair. Usually these types of companies say they're authorised repairers for a number of manufacturers. They are basically independent and claim the repair costs from the manufacturer.

I would suggest you contact Sony Ericsson themselves about your problem and mention the name of the repair center.

@ Rookwise

yes. It is authorized SE Service Center. This problem comes under warranty, hence they are not charging me, but still the phone condition is more worst now. Is there any option to get in touch with direct SE to raise a complaint about the same??

Go onto Sony Ericssons website and goto their support section. You can contact them from there.

Dont know if your in the uk but the only official SE repair center in the uk is SBE ltd. You have to post your phone to them. Cannot just walk in there.

It can take a few days. I've known it here to take nearly a week to get a reply at times.

@babu:
your story often happens when it comes to repair where they usually open up the phone. these repairmen don't usually mind to be careful enough in handling anyone's phone. so sorry to hear about what happened to your lovely Vivaz. get the phone's display part replaced instead since it is still under warranty. after that, try to find an original Vivaz cover/s and have someone who is careful enough to replace the damaged one. i am sure these items should be available.

there are only a few repair shops or centers one can find anywhere. often, it would be better to stay and watch while the repair is being done.

@aldrinus

I clearly informed to repair center that i would not accept the phone with defect or damage, even though they tried to convince me.

My phone is still with the repair center and i wrote mail to sony ericsson and asking for replacement as the phone is still under warranty and damage was made by their authorized service center and waiting for reply. if they refused to replace the phone i am planing to take legal action.

will update you guys more after receiving the reply from SE..
