Unfortunately, that has been SE since the company lost its way, you can never have it all. They will always sacrifice something.

Really!!! It will be huge disappointment if that`s the truth.
Qualcomm's 8260 is kinda disappointment in performance department and it will be almost 2 years old hardware when this device is going to be released.
Dual-core 1.2GHz version of 8260 shows just 70% improvement over 1GHz single-core 8255, which is far less than it should be. Even worse, promised 100% productivity improvement of Adreno 220 over 205 isn`t there at all, and tests revealed it was merely 30% which is pretty bad.
8260 didn`t match dual-core performance of 2011 rivals and even was beaten by some single-core devices in some tests. Do you remember GSM Arena statement in it`s review that HTC Sensation was slower than Xperia Ray in loading web pages.
So if Qualcomm 8260 will be used in next flagship it will be slow as hell next to opposition like SGS3 and will be another huge fail.
I hope Sony will change their minds and didn`t start with shits like MSM 8260.
Sorry for my language.
Just look at this (HTC Piramid is using Qualcomm 1.2GHz 8260 next to 1GHz Tegra 2 and TI devices)
Really... Sony do you expect to be successful with hardware which will be easily beaten by one year old devices?!

It may be enough for decent user experience, but customers are more and more demanding these days, that`s why is loosing so much lately.
1GHz Tegra2 and TI OMAP4 has double the scores of 1,2GHz 8260 in early 2011.. do you imagine how old and distant it will be in 2012 with devices using Tegra 3, TI OMAP 5 and also Krait.
Sony need head start and have to impress at the beginning, but believe me that`s not going to happen with almost 2 years old hardware.

I don't think SONY can do anything about this as it was a 100% project. |

Of course . But the Arc (S) stands out even by the standards of Sony Ericsson.
I am a bit disappointed as I hoped it would be at least the Qualcomm 8260A . |

It only gets 4561! It runs 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, Adreno 220 GPU, Qualcomm MSM 8260 Snapdragon. 6291 is good!

If there's one area that SE has improved a hundred fold is in software optimization. I actually think they are now better than all the Android manufacturers, so, I think this Nozomi will shame a few more powerful phones in performance. Take a look at what they did with the single core arc and you get an idea as to what they are capable of.
Like randomuser pointed out, at this stage we cannot blame Sony for the upcoming Sony branded phones, let's see what they have in store in Q3 and then bash them or applaud them
I have since stopped worrying about the next SE phone because SE as we know it is dead. I am just interested to see what Sony comes up with.
You all know how apprehensive I am about Sony's chances but am willing to give them a chance, who knows, maybe, just maybe they will prove me very wrong.

Why do you spread lies? I have 2 friends working for SE and ALL phones developed by SE has been done simultaneously between Japan and Lund! All big offices has been involved one way or the other. Every little software- or hardware change has to be accepted by both head offices. What has been changed is on the software side where Lund has some pretty good engineers so about 70% has been programmed in Lund but still have been approved by Tokyo.
Why do you have to misunderstand my post ??????? Did you understand what I was trying to say ? The Nozomi is 100% project . You have said the same thing in your post. Then how am I spreading lies ? There is a difference between and SONY.
SONY does not have/had 100% control over product development at . Things are/were decided between Sony and Ericsson both as you mentioned. And hence its not reasonable to expect SONY to change the hardware now when the project was developed and has now almost reached final stages under and NOT Sony Electronics
