It seem they worked much in same way of optimization; to make it very good before any official release.
I wish make crucial decision after end this 2 years agreement (should enough for now) and turn their head toward ST-Ericsson which have share the most powerful application yet available as Exynos 4210 from Samsung (Cortex A9 w/ Mali 400) to raise up the game or even better with game changer application.
Next year Mali the QuadGPU will available from both Korean side which will make competitive hotter stake for that why they should make it this quick! Before they market share will worsen drop.
It may take time and need work very hard on new application but I think it worthwhile and look promising than stay late in market.
Next year, TI OMAP will introduce dual-channel DDR3 memory it would another significantly update to whole industry again (for benchmark's lover)
IMHO!

Have you see new HTC Sense 3.0, it very prestigious and awesome and it might change my mind to jump off from ship sometime in the future if not bring something new into tables in aspect of intuitive UI, Samsung also did very well job on their TouchWiz 4 as well especially motion gestures look interesting enough but they need to work very hard on their own identity before they can grab my bucks because I want Samsung no.1 not Apple no.2 that's all.

Looks like a nice lower class phone. Though I'd love to see a 3.5" Walkman with a better camera (5 or 8 mp) |

Regarding the dual and quad core prototypes, I won't believe in a 10 y.o. boy having Naite and wishing to have an X10 whose dreaming of becoming Sony Chairman next year.
Take it a very late April fool.

Question. What would a walkman android bring to the table exactly? A bit of branding and what else? Maybe a fancy music player. But doubt that would be worth it. Could be why sonyericsson does not release a high end one |

I'd love to have music control buttons on the side of the phone. After switching from W595 to Vivaz, I really missed the Walkman button which brings out the player instantly. Hardware play, next and previous buttons would also be cool IMO. |

Same here. I am waiting for a walkman phone with all the button on the side so i don't have to unlock my phone everytime i want to change music.
The mini usb port on my vivaz broke, so i am hoping that the rumoured w15 is a real deal.

How about a reversal where you take a Walkman player and add phone functionality to it rather than what happened to the W8? Physical music keys so you don't have to unlock the screen etc. and a quick access to music library; big battery of course. Sometimes you don't want to pull out your phone in front of everyone, nice if you could change tracks quickly and without drawing attention; if you're a Londoner you won't even get the space on the train to fumble around. Android is Android with a different skin depending on which company you choose, hardware these days is too minimalist so a music centric device with such keys would be very welcome.
I use a basic Creative mp3 player but with an expensive set of headphones it becomes brilliant so doesn't necessarily have to make a high end device. A perfect example is the Xperia Play with its pad that makes it unique and better for games than anything and with this, you don't really worry about specs or camera etc. If the W8 had music keys then it becomes a hit instantly regardless of how similar it is to the X8.
@HxH
Personally, I need durability and usability so its HTC all the way for me. For me, HTC Sense is essential for everything I need to do and my Desire is my longest running device. However, I'm still looking for the X10 Walkman W10 with dedicated music buttons. Anyway, HTC are looking to mix it up so I wouldn't be surprised if they came out with a dedicated music device but its usually* hard to ignore the Walkman brand.

You keep saying this. Is this something you know about or just your hope? Cause that's exactly what I would like to see....

Actually, having checked the information which I received, back in March, from a very reliable source, there is a very good chance that the 'W995 successor' will be one of the trio of phones in the next announcement.
No further info though, sorry.
