If the screen is 3" doesn't that make it an upgrade of the X8?
Did sell more X8s than Mini/Mini Pro? I would like them to keep the 2.5" screen but bump the res up to 320x480 or even 640x480. A flatter/thinner Mini Pro would be perfect

It depends. The Mini range had better features than the X8, e.g the camera for a start.
Still no word on whether the new Mini range is actually to be called Xperia Duo / Duo Pro.

yes they should stick to the Mini / Mini Pro naming standard and leave duo for Dual Core Phones

Would you think the MINI 2 would be thin as arc |

bambarah: This would be great! I really hope they aim to get it just as thin as possible. |

Why would you want it to be? I can't imagine that being very ergonomic, and because the height and width are diminished by such a significant amount, there's no way to fit the same components into a smaller package of a similar thickness. |

But they could cut down on the weight! The difference between the Mini & Mini Pro is staggering - not on paper maybe - but when in hand. You can barely tell when you're holding the Mini, not so with the Mini Pro.
Does the keyboard really have to weigh so much??

The keyboard might not, but the mechanism probably adds a tad to the weight.
I think I'm in an interesting minority that I don't want my phone to be ridiculously thin and light. The Galaxy S feels like some cheap dummy model, not like a premium smartphone. And so I like my U20 a lot. It's comfortable to hold and while it's heavy enough to feel substantial to me, it's light enough that I can't really tell if it's in my pocket or not. |

if it was so small and so thin it would be a piace of art |

Don't think so, Arc is so thin at the center because it doesn't have any thing in that part except screen, battery and the body... LCD screen them self are thick. compare Arc to GS2, they have screen, battery and PCB with component in thinner body coz they have AMOLED which is so thin compared to LCD so they can do this
in case, as I mentioned it before with Arc case, they can't do very thin with LCD... they have to make it thicker...
You may think of 10mm as the last thing they can do with LCD and decent battery... it just a guess but even 10mm may be very difficult for to do.

Don't expect the minis to be thin, they'll probably be similar to the existing ones. Or else how will they put all the hardware (CPU, memory, camera, etc, etc) plus a good battery? |
