ELM J10i2 or 6220c ? |

Hey guys Im gonna buy a new phone. 
there are two deals. a Nokia 6220c lightly used one for around US$ 150$.
And a SE Elm J10i2 Brandnew for US$ 188. (shop price)
Both phones have 5MP cam,VGA video, GPS, etc... 6220c Xenon is advantage.
Phone must have better Camera quality and build quality(durable), decent battery life.
6220c welknown for bad build quality & low battery life.
I saw a fault (A firmware bug ???  ) in elm's camera. when we take photo in low light. there are one or two blue/reddish line.
Need your ideas.   | |

i dislike nokia's OS (Symbian)
very vulnerable with bugs such as rebooting it self, hangs, low heap and more.
At least those are what i confronted while i was a nokia users long ago.
Not on  side too cause i never choose 's Symbian as well
i really love simplicity, and it can be modded too from camera driver, sound driver to GUI.
Yes, Elm's camera sucks in low light while 6220c has the xenon advantage but in well lightened area i bet Elm will crush 6220c BIG TIME.
One more, Elm's wi-fi range aren't as long as others but it was enough for me.
It connects very fast after searchin.The choice is still yours my friend.

I haven't used a 6220c before but I do use to own an N82. If the 6220c's cam module is the same as the N82's, then you can't go wrong in terms of it's camera as I found the N82's camera to be one of the best during it's time (for a camera cellphone that is). Because of it's xenon, I can take it even in taking low light/night time pictures. I agree with groovepeppy that the Symbian UI is prone to hang ups, reboots, etc. But, since the 6220c is a relatively old device, I think most of it's software issues had been taken cared of Nokia by now. What you need to do is to make sure that the 6220c's firmware is updated. At least that's the case with my old N82 when I updated it's firmware, the software issues was fixed. Even my wife's 6120 suffers from occasional restarts but after updating it's firmware, it did not reboot randomly again. Also, for non-touch devices, Symbian is still ok IMO. One more thing, my N82's battery only lasts a day for me. I heard that the 6220c's battery performance is even worse.
I am currently using an ELM for my call and text phone. It is fairly a decent phone and I like it's lightweight and it has also a very good camera provided that you have a very well lit environment. Wi-fi is a good add-on but I don't use it much because of the Elm's small screen. Wi-fi comes handy though when I need to posts quick photos to Twitter or othe photo sharing sites. The battery performance of the Elm is excellent. I do charge it daily though as Li-Po batteries tend to have a longer life span if you constantly keep it at full charge instead of draining it before charging.

I agree with you. since symbian bit close to OS that like windows. we can expect hangs, rebooting, low memory etc..
the advantages of SE is modding. I did some mods to my early K750 & K800i. (both was best in that days. I think SE never produce such best products again)

I saw lot of forum threads regarding worse battery life in 6220c. and 6220c has questionable build quality.
6220's Display is very bright and has good sunlight legibility.
How about ELM's display ? heared it is bit dark compared with other SE phones. |

yes, when I first used the Elm, I found the screen brightness to be a bit dim. I got used to it though and I am currently using the trace theme (from Xylo I think). |

but it lack of GPS, WiFi, VGA Video .
but Has a Xenon and great quality night photos.
