What is the setting you use for taking night and daylight shots?
Mine, always come out darker than it's supposed to be (the reality) when taking the daylight shots. |

set to nightshot and flash off for low light and dark scene shots, and normal for daylight shots and flash to auto...no problems whatsoever...till now.

You're not shooting into the sun are you ? the most common school boy error we all make until we realise the obvious reason why they come out dark.

When talking "darker" means it's indeed darker than the other shots taken by other phones (e.g: Galaxy S2, Iphone 4S, etc). Previously, I have taken a lot of good shots using SE C901, but with N8, the results always come out 'darker' compare to that of Galaxy S2, Iphone 4s, Arc. Though not bad, but still got the feeling, 'something is missing'.

My advice would be to try tilting the phone slightly downwards away from the sky to stop some light getting in, focus the autofocus and then tilt the phone up again to lock the brightness of the scene. This means you'll get a more balanced scene with the sky being either brighter than it is really or burnt out.
Obviously dont point the phone too much down though or it'll focus on the ground which is much closer than a whole scene !
