The update for LiveView is out.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

I've one on it's way to me. Looking forward to it. I'm not allowed to use my mobile phone in work so it will come in handy for keeping up to date with stuff.

An update went live last Friday 28th Jan.

"The update is available through our update service application, more information can be found at www.sonyericsson.com/support or directly using the highlighted LiveViewTM update banner at www.sonyericsson.com.

If you should need support in doing the update please visit www.sonyericsson.com/support to find you local support details.

Here are some of the highlights of the update:

* Improved stability in the phone application (latest update available on Android Market as of minutes ago)
* Improved plug-in handling and limit of number of installed plug-ins raised to 30.
* Connection stability improved – most identified reasons for random disconnects should be fixed now.
* There were some cases of random reboots reported, and all those reported crashes have now been resolved.
* Compatibility with competitor phones is greatly improved, both in regards to stability and to battery life time.
* Automatic reconnect when coming back in range improved.

There still are a few stability and reconnection issues seen in our test labs around specific competitor models on Android 2.2 but they should hopefully not be frequent and should resolve after a reboot if experienced.

We also see the amount of plug-ins and Android Market growing rapidly and there’s now over 30 different plug-ins available for download.

My personal favorite among the new ones is Remote Camera which is a really cool concept!"

Arrived today, very cute and clever device in what it can currently do. Not tested the plug-ins yet but so far, it's fun if you like your gadgets.

Pt020, you have already tempted me to buy this gadget. But i guess i'll have to wait longer for it. Just one question- can you access your phone book and make calls ??

Oh fine. How is readablity in sunlight / outdoor? I cant read the number on my ds980. I have to cover the display to read the number in sunlight / outdoors.

I came across this review youtube by phonearena about liveview. The guy counted some problems with it. Mainly the liveview being knock off the wristband and some plugins compatibility issue. Is it true?

@ceaser2008

The review is from Dec 2010 when it just was released. Ther have been software updates since then, which hopefuly have addressed most of the software related issues it had back then.

It is a nice thing to have if you have too much money but I hope that their next liveview will be more like their old watches
