Windows Phone 7 devices to go on sale 21 October
Launch to be accompanied by £250m marketing campaign
Windows Phone 7 devices will be on sale from 21 October, according to reports.
Microsoft is expected to showcase the series in New York on 11 October
According to Deutsche Bank estimates, Microsoft's marketing budget for the Windows Phone 7 launch is at least £250m.
The company will launch a major advertising campaign on a number of well known UK websites and Windows Phone 7 is thought to have been paired with a London based radio station.
The first Windows Phone 7 device will be the Samsung Cetus, while HTC, Sony Ericsson and LG are also poised to release handsets working on the operating system.
Orange is expected to be a close ally of Windows Phone 7 during the launch campaign.
