Download IE9 Beta here
(Sync bookmarks from Chrome to IE9 instructions at the bottom of this page)
Great new minimalist interface, favourite sites page, integrated security features - everything Opera, Chrome and Firefox have been doing better than IE is now turned on its head. IE9 Beta is fast too, thanks to hardware acceleraton.
Who's using it?
Note: not seeing the smilie icons on the 'write a post' page.

I heard from a friend of mine in a pc store saying IE 9 will be twice as fast.

It's certainly fast - definately Chrome fast, maybe faster. I'm browsing via a 2.5Mbps+ 3G connection and pages appear instantly/in 2-3s but it's the new W7-style UI I like the best. And the Security features that warn you about dodgy webpages which is built-in not an extension. It's database is still being filled at present but it shows Microsoft is on the right track - finally. If WP7 gets this sort of design quality built-in it should be a cracker.

It doesn't offer to import bookmarks. I've just manually added a few sites.

I can see the smilies in the thread though. Back to manually typing BBcode - not necessarily a bad thing. The shortcuts were making me lazy.
Perhaps the missing smilies is something Laffen could tweak
IE9 has a break-symbol to the right of the 'one box' address bar which switches into IE8 compatibility mode in case you find a page which won't work properly, and it remembers to switch into compatibility mode each time you return to that page - nice,

Nothing odd here, just the missing BBcode shortcut icons on the Post reply page, otherwise everything renders well. Are you using W7 or Vista?

I'm using it on W7 Professional 32-bit on my Vaio. Haven't tried it on my 64-bit PC yet. Catch you later mate.

So can you now make it open all links in a new tab like firefox???
Its the main thing I dislike about IE, you cannot force all new windows to open in a new tab.

I tried the new IE9, vision is more enjoyable. However, Firefox (3.6.10) is faster than IE9.
There is already a new feature in IE9:

Yes!
In Chrome 6.0.472.55:
Click on the Spanner icon, click Bookmark Manager.
Click Organise, select Export Bookmarks... from the list.
Name and save the Bookmark file.
in IE9:
Click on the Star icon.
Click on the arrow(V) next to Add to Favourites...
Click Import and Export.
Select Import a File and click Next.
Select Favourites and click Next.
Browse to the location of the Chrome Bookmarks file you saved, and click Next.
Select a Destination Folder and click Import.
Click Finish.
