Possible to slipstream newer version of NetFront browser in firmware? |

Hi there,
**I have searched thoroughly about this topic but have found no in depth information. I'm presuming this can't be done.**
I can see that the Hazel/Elm are now both running NetFront 3.5 which has Adobe Flash support.
Is it possible to extract this browser for use in a different phone? Is it possible to upgrade the browser at all? I am running a W705 currently which I think runs 3.4.
Thanks |

Hi
As far as I know this operation cannot be performed. All the apps included included in non smartphones as the browser, media player, etc., can't be "ported" to other phones. Just the UIQ and WinMo devices allow this.

yes, but i think it should be possible for SE to push a firmware upgrade which would include upgrading the browser...
even i am using the W705 and really waiting for that to happen. there has been no firmware upgrade for W705 since a long time now inspite of the latest one having a few issues like buggy standby flash animation, browser version, etc.
