Just to clarify if you meant me, i dont own a Wave, but my girlfriend does, so i get hands on experience of the phone very frequently.
no, mate. i didn't mean you and i don't mean to offend anyone here... i think you're feedback about this phone is actually much appreciated by similar users and owners for that matter which is much like what i also wanted to elicit from readers with the feedback i also give about this phone
the only thing this phone lack based on my personal preference is an auto-focus camera!
aside from that, the phone is already awesome for me.

thanks for the info, pao9195!
i know that the Wave 8500 has the AF feature but mine which is the GT-S5253 doesn't have
but i am still thankful for wifey for this gift, notwithstanding the non-AF camera

I find my girlfriend's Wave AF very hard to use, there seems to be no click between no press and full press on the shutter key. Therefore you either dont take a picture as you try to judge the half press, or take a picture without focusing more often than not.

just to share:
my Wave's wifi is turned on all the time as we have a hotspot in the house as well as to where i regularly hang out... my service is prepaid by the way. when hotspot is not within reach, my internet accesses online using GPRS (packet data) and thus, my prepaid credits too! next thing i know, all my credits are gone and i need to re-load again.
i only use wifi services when i'm at home or anywhere near a hotspot when outside. since i discovered that packet data is used by the unit when a hotspot is not available, i have thus turned off the use of packet data and even turn off the wifi connectivity whenever i go out. it saves some juice and my prepaid credits don't get sucked up...

Again this is where Bada shows its immaturity. Unlike Symbian, theres no options in the settings to ask prior to making any connection.
But the same rules apply as to any handset, if you do not have unlimited data then turn off any connections when not in use.

I had this phone for a day tried it out. Very nice but it somehow does not feel like a smartphone in anyway shape or form. Just feels like a nice posh camera phone with Touch Wizz over it. The Wave I had would not set up email properly it was very clumsy & it also over heated & shut down

I cannot say my girlfriends Wave has had such problems but then shes not as likely to push its hardware or software as you or i. Having said that, to me it does feel like a smartphone, but it feels a bit too much like Symbian from 2002.
Still a brilliant phone IMO, but i wouldnt swap it for a Symbian, Android or iOS device.

I dont think though she will let me update her phone especially if user data is not preserved.

I have had the Wave 2 for a month now it's truly excellent & reliable. And the new Bada 2.0 coming out soon looks amazing more like Android!!

I got to admit I like the Wave 2. I bought two of them a week ago for birthday presents and had to set them up before they were given. The feel of the phone is good and very well made. Anything selected was accessed quickly with hardly any delay. Everything was easy and straightforward to do and set up. My last experience of a Samsung phone was back in the days of the E700, D500 & D600. Not used one since.
I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose |
