"Must-Have" apps that work on X10 mini / X10 mini pro Thread |

SonyEricsson X10 mini and X10 mini pro are the smallest Android based devices currently available on the market. Unfortunately the small size comes with the price of lower resolution 320x240 QVGA display. Many Android applications are not compatible with this resolution. The purpose of this thread is to find out which of the android applications are working on X10 mini / X10 mini.
I am sure this thread will be useful for all of us who are searching for X10 minis Android applications.
All who have these phones please advise which applications are working and are "Must-Have" for X10 mini and X10 mini pro Also please describe any problems that you might come across when using the apps on minis.
Thank you. |

Iīm still waiting my phone to arrive... When you go to android market application, will it eliminate those apps which wonīt work? Or is it just a lucky shot what will work? And yes, this thread is very useful! |

It is a lucky shot, that's why I thought this thread might be useful If it gets enough attention and response we could make a list on the first post with all known Mini compatible apps.

A lucky shot? Every app I've downloaded have worked!
Some of my apps so far: Spotify, Labyrinth lite, Fancy Widget, Battery Status, Goggles, PremoteDroid.
Love this phone btw! |

Well sort of it is a "lucky shot". Because depending on the developer apps are registered for specific screen resolutions. Now those registered for QVGA will work for sure. But there are many others that are NOT registered correctly (because of developers lazyness etc.) but still work. Those you won't see in the Android Market, but you can still install them manually.
At least that's what I've read so far about this topic. As now there are more Andoid devices with QVGA displays developers might be more aware of this fact. |

iMap Weather works great. It also indicates lightning strikes (which is great for me). But sadly, now isnīt lightning storm nearby to test it. |

@pao9195 it should work like charm. It has a beta version for Android.
I have a post here on how to convert Java mobile applications into Android pack. It's through online.

nice but one of the problem of Xperia X10 mini is it's battery is not replaceable

Well - with a bit of mechanical skills IS possible to replace it, the pack seems to be the same size as the one in my Cybook Opus. At least you can access it by removing the back cover - as opposed to the IPhone. But if you want to have a spare battery to exchange during the day etc. then you would have a problem.
Other than that I don't see an issue because of that. Most likely the battery will last long enough that I replace the phone by another new model before the capacity gets bad.
Or you wait for the Mini Pro... But that's over 100 gramm and I want to have my phone to be as light weight as possible. |

Opera mini works perfect, have on mine now and does everything fine. Also have Experia flashlight which works just the same as the x10, also fancy widget which works well, sms popup does not work very well, the popup appears when you receive a message, but if you tap reply it wants to create a new message rather than reply to sender. Most apps seem to work that also work on the X10.
