@adsada
Is the w995 really cheaper than the Hazel in Scotland ??
Here ( sweden ), the best price for w995 is 286 euro. My firend got his Hazel today ( also sweden, Mediamarkt ) for 197 euro. @rate 1 euro = 9,6 sek.
And yes, the w995 has got an 8mpix camera but does it perform better then the 5 mpix Hazel ???
Speaking of camera, as far as I know w995 record video in QVGA while Hazel do this in VGA. |

What I don't understand is, yes you can buy the Hazel which is new, but the W995 is still much better, with 8MP camera and 3.5mm jack are the two main things W995 has but the Hazel lacks. And you can buy this, now for cheaper then the Hazel. [...]
As Fredrix said, in many places I think the W995 is more expensive than Hazel, almost 40-50% more here.
I agree with you that there are many similarities; both are slide phones, display size, Wi-Fi, GPS etc. And that the W995 has at least two major features not found on the Hazel, 8.1 MP cam (with image stabilizer) and 3.5 mm audio jack, and some more (stereo speakers).
However, personally I don't think the amount of MPs is the most important thing. There are some other differences as well; the Hazel has got better standby time, capable of more colours on the display, The W995 camera is very nice but I think I saw some pictures were the sky had some more noise than I have seen on similar with the Hazel, but all that depends on quite many things. But the Hazel has some initial problems as well, over-sharpening etc. Finally the Hazel has the new noise cancellation and is HD voice ready.
The W995 is a Walkman but you will find the same player in the Hazel, with very good audio quality. Being a Walkman it looks like one; not all people want a phone that looks like a "toy".
I think the W995 records in WQVGA, and that they look better on the Hazel. |

Got both Elm and Hazel yesterday (Elm for my mum and Hazel as a review phone for somebody else, so they are gone again). I don't see much advantages of the Hazel tbh and the phone is much bigger, so I'd suggest everybody to go for the Elm instead. Unless you want the bigger screen, but that's not that important imo.

@ Domipost. Many use their phone as main internet access. For them screensize is important. And for video too.

If you do that than you shouldn't buy a phone like this at all. Better go for X10 or something than.
@dajumper
No, sorry.

I was waiting for the Hazel because of the bigger screen, but it seems like there are no real advantages in terms of features over the Elm. At the very least, they should have other colors for these new phones. |

Both the Elm & Hazel have HD voice ready & noise cancelling. The Elm's screen does go quite low brightness in lowlight but outside it's very bright though the only thing I would say the colours on the Elm's screen are not that saturated. This may be reflected in the price I don't know. The Elm signal issue hopefully will be fixed in next update it is quite bad sometimes I have emailed regarding the camera lines issue in lowlight & the poor signal. Will they listen? Who knows?

Yeah where I live you can buy the W995 for around £200 and the Hazel costs around, £400 so double.
As older phones get the prices obviously decrease, but I see that that's different in other countries.
Good points for the Hazel, but the 3.5mm jack for me personally wins over the Hazel.

Dunno where anyone got that price, but on ebay you can get a new one for €190, so the 400 quid is badly wrong
