Yeah, appreciate that it's the same from phone to phone mate. But it's not the same res as the computer, not at all. I just can't zoom in close enough on the phone for the app to do what I need it to do.

Will mess with my location services to see if I can get a more regular location accuracy.

Ah ok, I see.

Is it more accurate on another phone? Or is this a Google Maps Mobile issue? I tried accessing Google Maps on my iPad and it seems to give the same level of accuracy on street maps and names.

Only Google Earth is more accurate... but Maps seems to pull from the same database here in the Philippines

I guess it's different in the UK.

Skype for Android only for 2.1

I think that's it for me and Sony Ericsson I'm afraid. They cannot keep up with the pace.

Have you even read the reviews on Skype for Android?

I'm not even gonna download it when I get 2.1

Verizon Skype for Android only works over 3G

Skype for Android (non Verizon) only works over Wifi if you're in the US..non US Skype users, please confirm 3G/Wifi usage please... so far I can't find any info regarding this.

It currently doesn't run on the Galaxy S.

It uses 16MB of memory and can't be installed on the SD card.

Currently all Android Skype users are doing nothing but complaining about the myriad of issues they're having.

I'll stick with Barnacle Wifi + iPad for my Skyping purposes thank you very much. Looks like by the time Skype gets things sorted out with Android, the next gen of 3.0 devices will be out anyway.

No mate, I haven't to be honest and I have no real desire to! I am an explorer/mainstream consumer, when an app comes that I want, I want it to work without any pfaffing around. I don't have time to be running around testing different web services to see which is the best. I have a Skype account, I want to skype using my X10, simple...!

I dip in to here now and then to try cream off the great knowledge pool in Esato so that I can improve my experiences by getting the latest relevant info on software, tips & tricks and apps. There is so much negativity surrounding the X10 at this stage, and I have been unable to download that many new apps now cos I don't have 2.1+ that I'm irresistibly drawn toward a different product that will fulfil my expectations.

Your positivity and you telling me the Galaxy S isn't all that, for instance, gives me hope. That's why I come here.

Dunno about other phones. But funnily enough, I can zoom in closer when using Google Maps within the Cardio Trainer app while on a run than the actual Google Maps app... weird huh?

Soundhound is a very good app for music detection, you just tap record and then tap.again to who recording and it identifies the song and even gives lyrics and related artists, very good!
Way better than the trackid service on Sony Ericsson phones as you can choose how long music is recorded for

Just downloaded Poweramp to my X10 and X10 mini pro. Much better than the standard player. Plenty of eq's to choose from and you can create playlists via the phone (have to do playlists via media go with the standard player). Really makes a difference to the music playback via my ds220's with hpm66 headphones and also when in my car via my Sony bt3600u headunit.
Its only available as a trial version atm but once the full version is available it'll deffo be worth buying.
Also. Any playlists you make via poweramp can also be viewed on the normal music player as well which is a bonus.
I tried sniffing coke once but didnt like it. The bubbles kept going up my nose

I found out the hard way, have to buy though, because you get more maps, and different games.
