for those who previously owned an Analog phone, did you find the move to GSM beneficial, if so why?

my personal experience was for the first few handsets i owned on GSM, i suffered from quality loss in the handset as i owned an Ericsson EH237 which had a clock, alarm, last numbers called etc but when i moved to one2one(GSM) the quality of handsets was poor, functions were few but i got free calls in the evening and weekends...sms wasn't around at first but aside from the free calls i felt i'd gone backwards in quality of handset...for example, i've owned a few differnt Analog handsets and never once had any of them replaced because of faults...whereas i've lost count the amount of times my Ericsson, Nokia or old Motorola GSM handsets have been replaced by my service provider.

comments anyone?

First mobile Nokia 1110 and always Nokia since then.
That is until the day I saw T68i.
For Rolud: You really walked around with this phone?!
Impressive! You still have it?
