I rooted my E10i by using SuperOneClick as well. Some specifics on how to root your 2.1 X10 / X10 mini / X10 mini pro can be found here.

I'm on 2.1 already. I used Universal Androot back with 1.6 but it doesn't work with 2.1.
@burmistrz, SuperOneClick is too complicated for my liking. Here's hoping that Supe Androot is updated soon.

Yes, UniversalAndroot does not work on the 2.1 update and rooting with SuperOneClick is not that hard, actually  just look at the link i gave above. |

My friend tried to update her X10 mini pro, but the PC suite gave the message that her phone is up to date. We tried in spite of this the update process, but it's still on 1.6. What have been the problem?

There is no problem. It has alredy been mentioned several times that the update will be rolled out slowelly all over the world during whole November. Apperently it has not reached your region yet. If you have an operator branded phone, then it is your operator that decides when you will get the update, not SE.

Hi gayannr, sigh... I know... I've been holding off doing that in the hopes that would come out with the official update sooner.
I was just hoping I wouldn't have to keep jumping through friggin hoops just for an update... it's not like it's a leaked copy of 3.0 that has been secretly developed by Google just for the X10... it's just a 2.1 update.
But I'll probably do that later on when I'm done with work... sigh...

It sounds difficult, but itīs not. Just One Click. Remember, after you pluged in USB-cable, You have to choose "only charging". If doesnīt work, uncheck USB debug mode in your phone and switch on again. Also, You can close the OneClick app on computer at same time, then reopen it. Nothing complicated in that process.

Some key ones that should have the update out now for at least the X10 mini pro (and potentially also the others) are: Generic kits for UK, China, the Baltics, Belgium, France and India, and then also some operator kits in countries like the Nordics, Australia, France and Greece.

Does anyone have a problem with connecting to wifi with a hidden SSID on the 2.1 update?
I was able to connect to my hidden SSID wifi with the 1.6 firmware without issues, but now it just refuses. |

I had my x10 upgraded last wed. But my x10mp says its still has the latest sw version. All units openline from memoexpress
