Larry it may not worth upgrade from satio to this. No xenon flash is a big big downgrade and its more important than HD recording (Believe me i have both satio and omnia hd and the video recording quality (not size) differences are not that significant if you compare to the results you have when taken pictures in the dark or indoors thanks to the xenon flash) ... the software changes arent that much apparantly and there is still hope they update satio to vivaz version (At least there is no reason why they wont). There is only one thing that i still have some doubts because ive seen post around saying both things ... this phone got a resistive or a capacitve screen?
Nontheless X10 seems a much better choice if you want to upgrade

Ahh and about the faster processor... i dont think that will change much the performance of this device... S60v3 and v5 are slow by nature ... even a intel core i7 wont make these S60 versions faster! |

As said above price and size - it may not be bleeding edge but is a valuable contribution to smartphones and I think has a good chance to be a real "seller" for SE.
Some of the cheapest Nokia S60 represent breakthroughs at the lowest end on price/features ratio and this I think could represent the same for SE in the upper mid-tier, price performance and design. There's a distinct gap between the N97's (which are pretty poor to be honest) and the 5800 and this seems a much superior offering to Nokia's X6 and I'm not that bothered about it's HD recording talents. |

Yeep thats true. Its not a satio upgrade and not many satio users will change for it, but its big potencial a high end phone that if have a low price could be a best seller witch is exactly what SE needs right now. Lets wait and see |

What has vivaz got that satio hasnt other than the hd video?
Simple. It looks great! That's all anything needs to sell it. (It worked for the ridiculously underspeced iCrap)

Although the touchscreen is still using resistive technology, the sensitivity is pretty impressing. It almost feels like a capacitive screen, not to compare with e.g. Satio's touchscreen.
The screen itself maybe reason enough for some Satio users to exchange device I guess. |

I agree Arne, Satio's touchscreen is pathetic anything out there will be a upgrade indeed.

My touchscreen is fine better than my N97 I have no problem with it at all.

I had a chance to use this phone for a few minutes today. I really enjoyed it actually. In my opinion compared to the satio and the nokia handsets I've used running s60v5 this seemed fast and responsive. The phone fits perfectly in the hand, is stylish and will hopefully do very well seeing as there are not that many 8mp touch phones on the market still. |

Satio have just another resistive screen like the others... no complains about it, but i very much doubt Vivaz screen can rival with the 3.7 capacitive amoled of omnia hd that by the time Vivaz debut it will cost less than 400eur in all countries and have the same OS and similar specs. SE better put vivaz price equal or under omnia hd or else they maybe will be in trouble... only SE fanboys and ppl who want a smaller phone will buy it. And if the price will be to close of the X10 they will risk sell all x10 units and none of vivaz because there are many complaints about the OS and ppl want to try something new. Thats my opinion... |

the size not too small and not too big, the design with fine and smooth contour lines, the almost complete specs and hardware are just perfect for me, os wise are debatable be it winmo, symbian, android or proprietary
