Laughable Orange Blackberry data plan |

I have just seen the most paltry data package i have ever seen. Orange offering the data package of £5 per month using the Blackberry Curve or Blackberry Pearl gives you what they call UNLIMITED PUSH EMAIL UNLIMITED INTERNET UNLIMITED INSTANT MESSAGING AND UNLIMITED SOCIAL NETWORKING. But this UNLIMITED plan is a pathetic 50mb per month. I read the small print and my god thats piss poor. I wonder if anyone is actually using it? How can they say thats unlimited and yes i know its a discussion we have had before about O2 but this is different cos i know what it is. Its pathetic Orange. Really.

as any BB users will know, 50mb is a lot of data on a BB as the BIS server is dead good at scaling down data size.

In nearly 2 years of having my BlackBerry on Orange I have yet to exceed there 'Paltry' data allowance of 50MB and I use my BB all day from 7am till 11pm
O2 on the other hand........ well you know the score there!
So in truth mate its not pathetic its BlackBerry!
oh and if you get a UMA enabled BB device calls and texts are routed through your wifi where you have low signal...

Yes they have a full HTML browser, that I use daily and I've not gone over 50mb, I used a WM device for a month and the same sort of usage used about 170mb of data...
BB's are remarkably good at shrinking data.

3G doesn't use any more data than GPRS does. It allows for more users per tower, significantly, and more data connections. What 3G DOES do is allow you to consume data MUCH faster .
So you have a data = Milkshake smoothy in a cup,
you have 2 straws ... the one's McD's give you which is huge,
and the straws you buy at the dollar store = skinny.
You suck the same data ... BUT the bigger straw gives you more volume in less the time = mouth is fuller quicker .
Bad analagy but I think you can gel it.
