As a newbie I think I posted this in the wrong place - Other Manufacturers - Hope I am not offending by re-posting again but it's a major problem for my Cuzz.

Hi can anyone please help, I have a totally blind cousin who has a T 393 M phone which suits her well, unfortunately the battery is not holding it's charge anymore. We have looked to find a new battery (bkb193 138/75 R4A 6/N08669CP FLFC01W49) to no avail, nor can we find a new phone which she finds easy to use, needs to be impossible to turn on without a definate action, e.g. open the flap and then log on, also the buttons need to be raised with a pimple on the 5 to enable her to distinguish between them. Any suggestions will be most gratefully received and persued.

Gayannr and Mode, sorry to have mislead you, it is an Ericsson T39M bought in 1982! as you deduced Mode, this was before they got involved with Sony. I have now handled the phone and have loads of numbers from it and the battery.
I have also taken photo's "just in case". Again any help you can offer will be much appreciated.

GSM was only established in 1991 so I'm sure you mean it was bought in 2002
Anyway, AFAIK T39 shares the same battery with T29 which I recently purchased out of nostalgia but it didn't include the battery so I looked for it via eBay and found some hits and bought one. That's your best bet if you ask me but first it should be determined if the problem actually lies in the battery

The T39m was introduced in 2001. It uses the same battery as the T28, R520m, R320 and T29. Here is a link to a battery taht will work:

Thank you Gayannr, Mode and Jcwhite, the battery duly arrived Friday, was fitted that PM, charged overnight and worked a dream on Saturday. To say that my cousin is made up is a huge miss statement, you can't imagine what this means to her. She has asked me to thank you all very much for your help and wish you a great Christmas and a Happy and Successful New Year in whatever you do.

Even though I just 'helped' by editing the title I feel happy for her. Merry Christmas to you and her.
