Why on earth would it have no touchscreen media mode? whether its Maemo or S60,both allow everything to be done by touchscreen. The media keys are convenient, you wont have to take the phone out your pocket everytime you wana Stop, start, skip or go to previous track.

Why on Earth would it have a touchscreen but a whole set of buttons?.....Exactly. |

Bono
exactly! They just dont want to accept that, and its killing the performance. 96-128mb RAM was perfect for FP1 and FP2 but S60v5 needs atleast 192mb RAM,in their mid range handsets, then 256mb should have been in N97, N97 Mini and X6.

what are you on about dude? N97 has a touchscreen and a bunch of buttons. Nokia wouldnt limit a certain part to JUST buttons, only SE are capable of such things. And i already explained why it would have those keys in the post you quoted so wasup?

For me Nokia have improved in camera quality reliability and most other aspects. But if they just kept using faster processors and more ram things would be just perfect.

They have a new CPU, its a ARM11 600mhz CPU that supports HSDPA10.2mbps and HSUPA 2mbps. Its currently only in the 5630xm, E52,E55 and E72, and funny enough ive read quite a few complaints of the above phones constantly crashing, except E72 as its only being released now. Sounds to me like S60v3 fp2 and probably v5 are still being optimized to deal with it,thats why it hasnt made it to any Nokia S60v5 phone yet. N900 is still best equipt at NOKIA with 256mb ram +700mb virtual memory, ARM A8 Cortex 600mhz TI OMAP CPU. Its a machine.

3.2" screen? Although the resolution is ok, that's not exciting. I am looking forward for a >=3.3" screen. |

That makes sense lol. Not. I think a 3.2 inch screen is more than reasonable... |

i wouldn't go from my omnia hd to this n87 (or whatever it turns out to be if true). I hope nokia give me something in future with all the hd's best bits and some serious grunt under the hood... |

To be honest with Nokia's last bet on hoping to win technology patents or major cash from Apple in 2010 with an injuction (not stayed) we ALL have a much better bet with Motorola getting products out.
I gotta hand it to SE & Motorola the past 4mths. BOTH have been sucking it up, and putting their best employees and exec's into guiding their respective entity's into profitability in the mobile handset sector and their not trying to do it by suing a competitor from their own success.

@prom. I agree wholeheartedly. From my point of view, i find the nokia v apple situation pretty pathetic. Nokia are acting like children. As for motorola, i believe they can and will recover and go on to have several successful android handsets during q2 2010 right into early 2011. |

Yeah, but the 600mhz ARM11 is still relatively slow compared to the A8. It's like comparing a 3.2ghz Celeron to a 3.2ghz i7. |
