^What if this device is mid-end Playstation phone to be released at the end of the year, then the high end one will come out next year along with PSP2? I still do not think that the PSP phone would be this ugly at least the high end one. All of the Sony branded phones from Sony Ericsson have always had striking designs. Remember the W800i, the first Walkman-branded phone and the first cybershot phone K800i, they all had unique cool designs. |

Dont think this will be a mid range.. Maybe only camera department will be mid.. Music media and gaming will be high.. |

The PSP phone is VERY Sony Ericsson for where they are at design wise right now.
And you can be sure that it is high end.

It's not. But sure, llet's keep the discussion hidden away in here until the announcement date, while every other Sony Ericsson blog talks about the forthcoming Playstation phone.

the pic of the PSP phone is real.eldar has confirmed it.dont worry guys, its just a prototype.the concept will be the same, the materials and look will definitely change. |

Well Sony did say they wouldn't let SE market any kind of SE phone unless it gave a proper Playstation experience so I guess they're working very hard to make it just that.
So it wouldn't surprise me if it began looking more Sony than Sony Ericsson.

This is not a blog. I remember last year when other blogs and sites were talking about a concept phone by LEFTHORSE that I posted in the SE 2009 rumour thread. That concept was a photo posted in the Esato photo gallery and they were claiming that was Jalou. Engadget, GSMarena, IT168 and so on. Those are some sites that were talking about it.
So, why can't I say it is a dummy?

Apparently the Engadget "shots" of the PSP phone are FAKE.
"NowGamer contacted Sony Computer Entertainment Europe for comment and a spokesperson debunked the images as false saying, "These images are definitely fake". NowGamer also contacted Sony Ericsson for a comment. A spokesperson responded, "Sony Ericsson does not comment on rumour or speculation"."

Yes, that is the PSPhone. It is a high end device but its already lost out. It will be released around the same time as the PSP2 next year if the plans stay the same. There are no analog sticks but instead, this track pad thing. PSP2 will have dual analog sticks. If the PSPhone were to have one analog stick, you would be able to pass it off as a PSP1 with phone functionality but thats not the case. Having no analogs will limit the games. The PSP2 will get FPS games like the ones we enjoy on the PS3 and that will be a massive selling point.
The only advantage I see is that the PSPhone will have a SIM card so you could play online anytime while I imagine the PSP2 will be WiFi only. I could be wrong, the track pad thing is multi touch so it may work well but I'm not so sure. I'm sure that the quality of games will be the best that we have seen but when you're on the train next to a guy with a PSP2, you'll feel like a weenie.
I know its a negative post but its more to do with strategy. It has to be worse than the PSP2 so that it won't eat up its sales as the PSP brand is very important for Sony. Its as if are held back from making it as good as it could be. If you can play Modern Warfare on a mobile device online at a decent standard, every gamer will buy the PSPhone without a doubt. Unfortunately for the PSP2 will do it better. Of course the prospect of game like Gran Turismo, Tekken and Final Fantasy on a phone are great and will appeal to many but just those two little analogs would make a huge difference. |

I don't bother posting much, 100 posts in 4 years. But I got excited by the coolest new handset SE have had in a long time and wanted to see what the reaction here was but you're running around like a mother hen closing threads and being a kill joy. Good for you but it's incredibly boring.

LOL, get NowGamer to ask Sony about project Zeus and see if Sony have the first clue what they are talking about.
