I actually love the Dell's design, it looks like something from SE's design department. That is one sleek and beautiful phone.

Yes, there is a but and that is it is terribly long at 119mm. I was looking in the region of 109 to 112mm.

I will have to see it before I completely rule it out, maybe its length is acceptable in the hand.

According to Mizz there should be an announcement (and possibly releases) in the next 4 or 5 weeks.

I heard from an insider that we probably won't have any more high ends until next year which sounds a little suspect. He said that the next announcement is soon and will be for mid end stuff. The Windows phone is way off so maybe MWC 2011. Only a few more phones to be released this year, as few as 4 maybe from other sources. It sounds strange because August/September time is where you have the most activity and I was expecting a Satio 2. I wouldn't be surprised if announced a few phones and release them much later, it flopped for the X2 but was good for the X10.

Anyhow Nokia will have the N8 out, the N97 successor to be announced as well as a number of new devices (XM stuff). Samsung doing stuff around the same time, Androids and various Omnia phones. HTC to reveal a Desire spec phone with qwerty as well as the Windows phones (possibly 1.3GHz according to some) and lower end Androids as well. LG to release their Windows phone. A few mega Motorola phones, maybe even a Nexus 2 which is said to be by Moto but who knows. Oh, I almost forgot the iPhone which is actually a really good update to the 3GS, it will go head to head with the Froyo devices because both have a really good UI.

@ -16-

I think the HTC stuff will be around September.

Also, a few people are saying that there are a few regrets about the X10 and Mini. With the X10, they are finding it hard to update for whatever reason so you won't get Froyo soon. The multi touch is a lesser problem as they expect more apps to cater for phones with this function. For the Minis, a lot off apps will not work because of the screen so its unlikely that many apps will be made to suit it specifically when there are so many normal Android devices out. What it means is that in the future, should be a bit more consistent and have a 'normal' sized screen with multi touch possibly like the upcoming Walkman if the speculation is correct.

I don't see the point in SE releasing any more high end phones till next year, the X10 should be the main phone for SE, and once 2.2 comes availble I wouldn't be suprised to see SE pushing the X10 again.

I just don't see how they won't release at least one more high end phone this year other than the walkman phone.

They usually take a year in updating their flagship imaging device so Satio is likely to be replaced.

Their portfolio is already thin this year and without one more high end how long do they expect to milk the X10, X10 mini/pro and/or Vivaz pro? It just doesn't make business sense to me at all.

My guess is the walkman phone and a Satio successor are going to be released this year.

i thought we would get 25 phones this year, including the key 5 (X10, X10 mini, X10 pro, Vivaz and Vivaz Pro)?

Then Spiro/Zylo has been announced. So we sill have 18 more phones. What happened?

Anyway I hope they would release that Walkman Android this year

I did not quite get this. Did you mean Android apps that do not require multi-touch or the other way around? If A lot of new Android apps will support multi-touch, then few applications will work on X10 as it does not have the multi-touch feature. Wouldn't that be a big problem?

The lack of multi-touch is my biggest gripe on X10. I tried a couple of X10 demo phones, I still got the same problem when scrolling down through the apps and swiping the screen from left to right (much like my experience with G1), I kept opening applications that I did not want to. Does this happen on Nexus One and HTC Desire?

I guess 25 was way too ambitious!

Sorry if I was not clear, I mean that more apps will support multi touch which is a minor problem for the X10. It does not mean that the apps won't work but you do lose some functionality and could have stupid scrolling and swiping problems. The big issue is when you compare Froyo to 2.1, there is a significant difference in performance and many little welcome tweaks.

That doesn't sound right (as you say). We're not even halfway through the year yet, and I doubt they'll go that long. Unless possibly your source meant no phones released, rather than announced.

I would expect to see a proper Satio successor at least announced, possibly even an X10 successor announced later in the year.

How many devices will you be releasing this year?
The total number of products, including last year's, will be 26. Clearly this is a huge reduction. There are the key five (see below), which will all be out by the end of Q2. Then there will be a number of Walkman products. Some of these will be better suited to prepay, so we will still have relevance in that segment from the middle of 2010 onwards; they will be around the £100 mark. So it's focused - 14 to 16 key new devices this year.
