Iīm now using OperaMini5beta2 and itīs great with Satioīs large touchscreen and easy interface. I wanted to check out if Mobile10beta2 was any better, but somehow I canīt get it connecting to the internet. Anyone?
edit: got Mobile10 working also. Just had to reinstall my internetsettings. Now all network connections, including wifi are working perfectly.

I think it should be possible in the menu settings/Phone settings/program settings/standard programs, but for some reason, no other web browser than the built-in browser can be selected in that menu. I suppose that Opera Mobile is not correctly registered in the phone's software, or that SonyEricsson or Symbian does not allow other web browsers. |

I must say I'm loving Opera Mobile, the kinetic scrolling makes a nice change on the Satio compared to the inbuilt browser, though it's a bit twitchy.
The only things I'd want more is Flash (obviously), an RSS feed manager (unless I haven't found it) and some confirmation that you've clicked a link, I quite like the button on the Satio changing from 'Back' to 'Stop', it's useful as some links are quite hard to hit, I have to un-full screen the main Satio browser to check it's doing anything.
It seems to be a bit more draining on the battery, but it's hard tell.

REMEMBER you can fiddle with your opera settings by going to the url and type OPERA:CONFIG

The UIQ version of Opera had a feature yet to make it to any other version.. Samsung has now copied this on its browser for Vodafone 360.
Basically, when you click on any link the vicinity - it pops up an expanded box with all the links stacked up that are nearby so you can now click the right one with absolute confidence.
An incredibly simple feature, yet for some reason Opera has it on an obsolete OS only!

Maybe they realise its not obsolete just yet ?
Just downloaded this verison tonight and im very pleased with it. However it needs more customisable zoom function. 100% is far too small, 140% is too big. I need something inbetween !

I still have some UIQ devices (even a P800 in my office drawer) but there seems no logical reason for having developed something so clever and then not rolling it out to any other platform.
As I said, Samsung has now copied the idea on the H1 handset - and it will probably look now as if Opera is copying them, rather than the other way around.
There must be a reason but I can't for the life of me think what it would be. Clicking links is always a problem on a touchscreen - especially if you want small text to fit as much material on the screen as possible. Opera solved this problem - but you need to have an old obsolete phone to use it! Go figure.

I also liked UIQ3 on my G900 (untill the screen died). As a linux fanboy I like systems you can fiddle with. But G900īs interface wasnīt way as easy to use as Satioīs. But itīs mediaplayer was a huge with SoundModLite and my big Sennheiser headset. Wish I could make Satio sound like that.
