Not really there is no point..But if you wanna have there just to end something here and there cool, just dont get all OCD on it. Heres what I wrote in my previous post....The Android system free up space when its needed, and puts things in the background on idle when not in use (not using batt). Dont get me wrong, I kill some task here and there. I have excellent battery life on my X10 as I have stated in previous post. I just want for those who dont understand or use to how Android works, dont get all caught up in killing apps all day, every sec of the day. Its not worth it. I hope this helps clears up some of the confusion.

"Android is different to most other phone operating systems. It's closer to Linux than any other type of operating system. Lots of services and applications constantly run in the background just like they do on Windows. However, and this is important, they do not have to use up a ton of resources. A service or app can be loaded, yet use almost no additional memory, and 0% CPU until it actually has to do something.

In general, killing off stuff is a waste of time. Android automatically asks apps to close that aren't needed when it needs more memory. Killing off some of the processes you are killing off also means it'll slow your phone down, as these processes only need to reload, and when you do need to use them it means the phone will be slower for the few seconds it takes to reload them."

@caff111,
now about the handcent, i dont use that anymore but when i did, for me it seems like either when I recieved or sent a text msg..a notifcation came on screen asking "which text style I wanted" It said Handcent or Android (Stock default)...I chose Handcent and then checked the box that said "dont ask again". And that did it for me...but i cant remeber what made that notification came up, it was either I sent one and it came up or I recieved one..

go to the default android messaging app and in the settings you can turn off the notifications...

not sure about the no need for task manager comment.. in theory i guess that's how it works but i find that once the ram starts getting low.. goes from 100mb to about 28mb.. i start getting lag issues and apps not wanted to behave.

on my old magic and hero.. the keypad would start lagging to the point of being unusable.. hasn't happened on my x10 though..

after updating to the r1f firmware.. i'm not having any battery issues anymore.. it's pretty good now..

Does X10 have Shake Control in MediaScape like W910? I use that feature a lot and it's big drawback if X10 doesn't support it. It's not dealbreaker, but would be big disadvantage.
The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

i have not personaly tried it but i guess it's no, why shake? pressing and holding volyme + or - have worked very well on my last phones.
and the bt-headset features pre and next, so no need to even pick up the phone... BlueTooth is the shit!

personal thought, wount it change song all the time if you are running with it in your pocket or on your arm?

I thought I would miss an eq comming from w995, but the sound produced through the player of the x10 is quite good. At least with earphones from Denon

@SKIBBE - No, it won't. On W910, you press the "W" button on top and then you can shake the phone left/right/twice for random song.

I also love seeing my friends' faces when I shake the phone and the song gets changed ( the WOW factor ).

Has X10a recieved any firmware updates since the time it was released? I am considering buying X10a from Rogers but I am having doubts because it is not running the Android 2.1. Although Eclair will come to X10 in Q4, I still think it's "too late" and what should we expecting by then is Android 2.2 or Froyo. I tried a demo phone at Rogers Store and I find the touchscreen over responsive when scrolling down the apps list which is I quite annoying. I kept opening apps when what I wanted to do was to scroll down the page to see other apps. I probably should get Motorola Droid from Telus or Iphone 3GS.

to open an app in the store, you will have to press it and keep exactly still for a while... you should practise to scroll.

its really easy and great function. it's really fast

Has anyone seen the new Phones4U advert with the X10 white in? So silly but humourus.

@SKIBBY: Yes, I can do that but, it's quite a nuisance. If X10 just supports multi-touch, this would not have to happen.?
