A bit offtopic, but that's the new Android 2.2 home screen:

The best mobile phone brand died with Sony Ericsson's death. Shame on you Sony for killing it! And, of course, for ruining the Xperia brand...

It may be easiest for her to refash the phone and resync. she needn't enter your calendar entries again, you can share your calendar to her calendars view at calendar.google.com and choosing to edit the calendar settings for that particular calendar then sharing to your friends gmail address. Just make sure she backsup her contacts to sim or whatever as an extra precaution so there's more than one backup of them around.

She only has her calendar and contacts on her phone and not on Google, because it will not synch to there.

I could get it to do a S-E synch, and also try deactivating the google account from her phone and then reactivate..

Try that on Monday..

ofiaich -- it's a glitch w/ google calendar. you have to go into manage applications --> calendar and delete all data. then it should resync

you may have to do this on a regular basis.

OK, I will ask her to add all the data that she has on the X10 to Google calendar, then she can delete from the handset, and resynch back...

thanks!

Regarding your first question, the apps I have on the ignore list are:

Netcounter - because I am monitoring my data usage each month and ending this app would reset the total.

Mediascape - I read on here that it's not a good idea to force close this.

Autolock - I need this running so I don't have use the pattern to unlock the phone everytime.

Alarm clock - I use this most mornings

Antivirus - for scanning my downloads.

Does X10 have Shake Control in MediaScape like W910? I use that feature a lot and it's big drawback if X10 doesn't support it. It's not dealbreaker, but would be big disadvantage.

@caff111

I don't really bother with the Autokill since someone on here explained that the OS doesn't really require us to do so. I'm not convinced it helps the battery life by killing apps using Auto task killer, although every now again I will clear tasks manually. For extended battery life I'm simply ensuring any wireless controls aren't left running - and the screen which seems to be the main consumer.

I wish they would release the battery fix already.

I have used the X10 with task killer and without for a number of days...

I have not noticed any real difference in the battery consumption...

@caff111,

With android you donnot need to use a task killer. The OS controls all of this. Read on of my previous post, it explains it. Or just do a google search about the Android OS and applications running in background.

so there is no point in using task killer?

Also, I am using handcent SMS app at the moment and when I received sms, i would get 1 sms from handcent sms and 1 from android messaging. How do I deactivate the android messaging? Thanks
