Vivaz in a strange way reminds me of N82, boasting great features and yet is very well priced. Im far more excited about it than the X10. SE usualy get it right on their 2nd try in Symbian lol, eg. P990 to P1 and W950 to W960, lol.
I just see the X10 not totaly living up to expectations. Im not trying to bash X10 at all but if i was in the market for a Android device,id get the MOTO Milestone and wait for the next SE Android.

I hope they confirm that the x10 come with Android 2.1 and Multitouch and sorry for my bad english.
they have already confirmed that it will come with 1.6 (and are using the fact that they have implemented much of the later android functionality already as an argument why this will is not a problem for the X10).
The also said "What I hope to get across to you all, is that there will be a software update for Xperia X10 that will upgrade the complete Sony Ericsson User Experience Platform based on newer version of the Android OS." which does not specify exactly which version of android they are intending to provide an upgrade to and whether or not this will include the multitouch functionality recently released onto the nexus one.

@shepy
Your english is good enough
Android 2.1 might come later but multitouch is a different ballgame altogether.
Lets just hope the X10 can hold its own and stand out among the plethora of devices being launched. As for me, for the time being, am going with the Vivaz Will get the X10 later once its price stabilises.

I was wondering, will it be possible to clear the SE UX from the X10 and update Android 1.6 to 2.0 or 2.1?
Or is that something that will take lots of time of some very smart people for making that possible? |

There are some nasty rumours going around in a swedish forum that x10 wont support multitouch hardware-wise (inside info its said).
I know that would be a complete dealbreaker for me. Software being bad is one thing, but hardware...
God I hate SE sometimes... Its like a love-hate relationship |

Recently Harold de Kort, the marketing manager for Sony Ericsson in the Netherlands, answer about 80 questions regarding the X10 to the dutch site "Tweakers". He answered many of the same questions being asked here, so take a look.

The x10 will not support multitouch out of the box for sure, as confirmed in that interview. The hardware might support it, we're just not going to get anything from SE on that front. Until the 2.1 upgrade ( If and when that happens...knowing SE, am still unsure about the extent of the upgrade we can look forward to, Sumit @Product blog never lets us know which version will it be updated to ), nothing can be done. After that its upto the folks at xda developers to weave their magic

the translation is pretty horrible, but from what i can tell it doesn't seem too favorable? that's a shame. look forward to seeing an actual review of the retail version though.

From Eldar? You don't say...
Reviews of retail versions would be awesome of course, but from GSMA or Phone Arena. Or if Sergei Kuzmin does the M-R review. |

While I agree that Eldar has been unbelievably silly and horribly biased when reviewing certain SE phones but this preview is well done.
He points out the negative aspects in relation to competitors and some good points.

whoever is thinking of buying a x10 with 1.6 version must be a fool....
wait for 2.0 to be intergrated....but until then you will find out there will be plenty of better phones to choose...
