Revisted: iPhone unlocking now it won't be exclusive to O2? |

congrats. I'm still waiting!
I did call O2 yesterday afternoon and they confirmed my request is "in the system" and I should get my unlock "soon", but they can't do anything more about why there is a delay until the full 14 days have passed, which will be next Tuesday.
I wish they'd hurry up 'coz the day I get it unlocked is the day I ask for my pac code

I just realised that everyone I know who has received their unlock has the 3G rather than the 3GS.
Did anyone here get the unlock yet for a 3GS?

It did occur to me that they might be in less of a hurry to let you go... my phone's more than a year old now (though 5 months still to go on contract), perhaps they're just working through the lists in purchase date order?
Presumably when you unlock your 3GS and port off to your new network, you'll still have a year's O2 contract to work through - are you just switching that to another phone?

I still haven't received my unlock after 14 days. My guess is that it has something to do with my jailbroken and unlocked 3g iphone.

is it 14 days? the web site says "From 10 November, the iPhone can be unlocked for O2 customers in the UK" which means 14 days is the 24th, i.e. next Tuesday

I applied to have my 6 week old 3GS unlocked from O2 on the evening of Monday 9th November (the day before Orange started offering it).
My text from O2 confirming the unlock came on 13th November at 18:45 and it worked straightaway...

You are right masseur it's been 10 days so far, my mistake. I applied on the 10th November so hopefully it will be unlocked by the 24th.

"Your iphone is now unlocked. To use a non-o2 sim card in your iPhone swap the existing sim and connect to iTunes as usual"
I'm yet to try another simcard

O2 are a pain...
I requested my PAC code and they are so difficult... giving me stupid excuses about the reception and 3G being bad due to an old SIM and giving me the loyalty bantar... It don't mean anything if you get crap reception and 3G service...
Finanly got there in the end... Now need to wait for a tx message to come...
Here I come Voda... Never thought I would...
Cheers
