Apparently the Eurpopean GSM version has MULTITOUCH.

yes but loses the free google turn by turn navigation thats for US only

comes with Motonav instead. which will require a license...

I would prefer multitouch over google's navigation program. I mean its only a bit gimmicky to be honest.

Ruling out their top end expensive all flashy phones how is Moto with pricing normally? Are they cheaper than the rest of the pack?

Generally cheaper yes. This will easily be about 300-400 euros when Rachael would be about 600-700 euros.
