Hi all, sorry for the newbie question,
can anyone tell me how to send a background pic saved as gif in the correct format to my phone. I tried to use the receive background menu in the phone and the windows explorer menu function on my pc but to no avail.

Any help welcome.
Thanks!

The way I do it is to right click on the gif image on my computer, click on Send To, then click Infrared Recipient. Make sure the IR is activated both on the phone and computer. It works with free logos on Esato.com but the ones I do myself don't seem to. The images I make are much larger than the ones on the website. If anyone knows how to draw correct ones......

There are a couple of points you need to keep in mind when creating logos for your phone.

  • The number of colours must be maximum 4. You will be able to view images with more colors than this, but not able to save it on your phone. The Nokia 3330 is only able to display images with less than 2 colours.
  • The dimension of the image should be maximum 73x26 pixels for the Ericsson T39, and 73x39 for the R520. You will be able to install 73x39 logos on the T39, but a part of the logo will not be visible.
  • The size of the image should be less than 1000 bytes. I have successfully been able to save larger images on the phone, but the recomendation is less than 1000 bytes.

Sorry guys, i did all that.
I can actually transfer files from my t39 to pc, so IR is not likely a pb.
It s complaining about invalid data, so i m wondering if the path of the file is too long, or if it accepts the extension, or .... I don't know.
I transfered ringtones and images but only one way... HELP! :|

Ok - thanks guys - I carefully checked the gif and it had more than 4 colors. Everything works now.
