Hi everyone! I'm new here but I've had my white Aino for almost a year now. I'm ashamed to say that I am a complete noob when it comes to taking pictures I've been browsing through the pictures posted here and the clarity is AMAZING. Since then I've been trying to find out if I can achieve the same sharp pictures even when blown up to 100% of its size. Somehow I can't.

It doesn't matter whether I use 8 MP, 7 MP or 6 MP, using Auto-Scene, with or without Macro mode. My pictures would look clear when viewed on the phone, but really horribly blurred when viewed (via Photoshop) at 100%.

6 MP, Auto scene, Macro mode, Photofixed. It's a crappy photo, but I want to improve myself! Any tips for the noob, please?

forget photofix and everything.

. use good light (morning light and evening light is the best light. strong daylight sunshine is not optimal)
. use macro a lot (1920x1080 HD)

.................................practice.

Yes,a steady hand & look at the light around you. Shoot with sun behind you unless sunset of course. Having a steady hand though is not easy working with animals

When I had the Aino (happy Samsung Wave S8500 owner now ), I noticed a hedge improvement when I changed the memory card to a faster one. Try that.

Thanks for all the tips! I'll try them and see what I can come up with *Coughcoughmorejunkcoughcough*

@plankgatan:

I'll try to practice using natural light. Is Aino's HD really better than 8/7/6 MP? My brother (Xperia user) noticed that my Aino's full HD only uses 2 MP, so he told me to use the ones with higher resolutions. He noticed the same thing with his wife's Xperia Arc (yeah, whole family of SE users). Any thoughts?

@hihihans:

Will do, that steady hand is a joykiller, though.

@Bonovox:

Actually it's not the animal I'm worrying about... She's a sweetheart, takes directions well, but right now she's pissed at me for making her pose last night for an hour while trying different shots. )

@MFire:

I never thought of that. I recently changed the original memcard my Aino came with when I bought it (a Sony 2GB) to an 8 GB MicroSDHC Lexar. Haven't really noticed any difference with speed, but I'll try taking samples using either cards and check them out.

[Edited for the sake of not double-posting]

I think they're still fuzzy around some edges. More practice!

Shiny~

I have a question with this one: How do you focus the entire image and not just the foreground? Do I have to switch to "Infinite" mode?

Just had to capture her face, she thought I was leaving her alone at home.

if i get better picture using HD 1920x1080 ???? (i get good quality-photos using 8m.p. also, but i like HD Res better.....

another main reason i use HD 1920x1080 is because i have a 16:9 1080p screen..

a tip.....................go up next morning (really early) if its clear weather and shoot some macro pictures..............you will get awesome quality.
