I was using live.vodafone.com@ with Opera Mini 2.06 and managed to download a 176mb file - I got the usual 3G speeds (48kbps) but when I tried to download that same file with Bolt, the download couldn't even initiate.

Bolt just plain sucks for me! I have had no success at all with it. Opera mini 5 handler is the best for me. The largest file I have downloaded until now is about 185mb (FL studio 9). I used OM 5 handler and it took about 1 hour and 15 minutes. The live.vodafone.com@ trick doesn't work at all for me. It downloads and all but it's not free. I've realized that as soon as the download begins the live.vodafone.com@ part is just gone, so it is as if you just download the file without any trick.

I use the internet.vodacom profile with lelook.com Cgi proxy at the moment. I have a question though: What do you think will happen if Vodacom figures out what is going on, an they find out who we are. Can they take any legal action against us, like make us pay all the data we've used?

P.S. is that video studio X2 you downloaded the full on or trial, if it's the full one, where did you get it. 4Shared etc. download counters don't want to work on OM 5, that's why I'm asking.

If they find out, and with RICA and all, they can definitely take action against you.

Good thing that I'm not registered with RICA yet. And I'm going to postpone as long as possible. But what kind of action? Do you think I can find out in some or other way?

I think the action that a network could only do is blocking your sim, here in phil. we are using tricks for more than 5 years and i think they already know about it and if they do take a legal action on us well they are just getting rid of 25%+ of their subscribers so its imposible to block all those, but if you try to call the network and ask about your internet they will notice and boom secret revealed, sim blocked, so don't ask something about your internet to them.
Well it depends on you guys if how many are you who are using tricks.

@sitnet, how do you download using OM5? I got OM5 handler but when I want to download, it goes to my default browser & starts downloading from there & I get charged for it!

Ok for all the people that are having trouble downloading in opera mini 5:

It should go to your default browser, but it should also be free. Make sure that the front query is typed in correctly. For me only the "dot" (as in "live.vodafone.com.anongoogle.com/cgi............) trick works, with the @ (as in live.vodafone.com@anongoo........) trick I get charged. Also make sure that your internet profile is on Internet.vodacom.

Furthermore I don't know what could be wrong, maybe you could post your exact settings in OM5 and your internet profile here.

Maybe your application setting is set not allowed

Tools>Application Setting>Om5handler>Option>Setting>Read User Data> set it to 'Ask Everytime' or 'Always Allowed'

Maybe this is the problem, but as far as I know Opera Mini 5 doesn't have a built in downloader at all (like Om 4.2 where you can click save). Because the normal unmodded one also uses the built in browser to download, and all my permissions are on "always allow".

That right, when you download with Opera Mini 5, it always opens the default browser and downloads - Therefore it isn't free.

Ok guys, here's my dilemma:
On one hand, I can browse free on my Vodacom sim, all thanks to you guys, but I can't use mxit free on it.
On the other hand, I use mxit free on my Cell C sim, but I can't browse free on it. I was browsing/downloading free on Cell C when I had only R0.01 on it, but they started deducting some cents (after I recharged) whenever I browse now. I have tried all the Cell C tricks here, same thing (still have some rands on the sim).
Any ideas guys?

@douzy, to browse free on cell c, use the exact same settings as you did for vodacom, but replace "live.vodafone.com" with "mxit.co.za"

It should work!
