ok then,go to sharemobile.ro and search for 'opmin' it should give you some handler mods on both operamini 4.2 and 5beta.

Hey man :) Ok looks to me like sharemobile.ru's server is down or something. Do the following to get the Opera mini mods you want:

1. Visit http://wap.mobiles24.com on your wap enabled handset

2. Select Download by ID and enter 342410

3. Click Download Item

That is for OM 4.2 handler mod. For opera mini 5 beta handler use the code: 346264

@ ALL

Ok I made quite some progress today! :-) Opera mini 5 beta never worked for me, but 4.2 worked flawlessly. So I had an idea. I just used the opera mini 4.2 server (http://live.vodafone.com.server4.operamini.com:80/) and not the Opera mini 5 server in the "custom http server" setting. Now it works, and also for free. Until recently I also couldn't really download, but I just put "live.vodafone.com.t9space.com/power/s/http/" in Opera mini 5 beta's front query box and suddenly I could download for free! I still get an error "communication error, please contact your service provider" if the file is larger than 10mb I'm trying to download though. This is quite irritating!

I know t9space is probably one of the best front queries there is, but do you guys know of any other good ones? Oh and the "live.vodafone.com@" one doesn't work for me, it downloads but it is not free.

Followed it step by step. When trying to browse it just says 'loading' all the time. Even after ten minutes.

hey guys ,im glad you finaly got these tricks working on vodacom which i thought it was impossible,me ive been browsing and downloading for free for about a year now on cell-c ,he problem is i was scared that if i reveal this information on esato most people wiil abuse it and it will be blocked,i thought that if im the only person who does this then cell-c wont mind ,i started with opm 2.04 nd few months later i was able to browse and download using default browser,i tried to contact Sitnet regarding this success but he was no where to be found.

we all know how expensive it is to make calls and use the internet here in South Africa, they are eating our pockets,so if you happen to find a way to use the internet for free, stick to it, it pay back time.

for those on cell-c if you need any info regarding free internet p.m me bye

I'm very upset to hear this This is exactly what my problem was last week! I finally got things working by using the opera mini 4.2 server in opera mini 5 beta. What you can try is this: first go and get the "internet.vodacom" Internet profile (which suddenly started working for me for no apparent reason), then activate it and see if you can browse now. If you can't get opera mini 4.2 handler and try the EXACT same settings in that one, this is the one that worked for me from the start.

I can't think of anything else that could be wrong at this moment, but if I do I'll let you know as soon as possible.

@ voodowizzard

WOW, it's wonderful to speak to you again . Yeah I'm very sorry about the whole "dissapearing" thing. My life was going quite hectic at the time and I didn't even get to buying a CellC simcard. I'm am very glad that this free browsing is finally working on Vodacom! I'm certain there is a lot of people here on Esato that can use your knowledge, but most of all your experience! So please check in on this thread every now and then.

Thanx

@ ALL

I am now using the settings described on on page 4 (the post by me) of this thread: http://mobile.esato.com/viewt[....]topic=190550&forum=16&start=30

I have also reverted to the "internet.vodacom" internet profile (get it by going to *111#), because the downloading works better, and I think it is faster too.

My only real problem at this time is the how big files I can download. The largest I can download is about 20mb. Do any of you know how to solve this?

Hey sitnet, I put all the settings in OM 4.2.

I cant connect when its set to HTTP. It just says failed to connect to internet.

I can connect if it is set to socket. But then it charges.

I'm not sure! But my download limit (on the same network) is about 70mb - I think it depends on your phone...not sure!
