Nope, not my pet That's the closest I've ever been to a simian (except for some of the rare occasions when my (pri)mates transform into one when we hang out )

Anyway, here are more examples for macro, normal, low, medium and good lighting conditions

@mode
just curious, why are your pics so small? Can you post bigger size pictures?
Its hard to judge the quality when the picture size is so small. lots of cell phone pictures look good when so tiny like this.
I want to see the quality of bigger images with the w995.

thanks!

@jake20

I've constantly posted full sized images at the photos section, you can look at the quality there. To upload all of the photos at 2+ mb is ridiculously unpractical plus, not supported anyway. The photos are resized to medium by Flickr, and accurately show colours, contrast, saturation etc. which this thread is basically for, not full size pics. For showboating the actual quality, feel free to request for any one of those images to be uploaded at the photos section

Can anyone please post some more low-light/night photos of food, in macro mode, preferably on white plates? I have a K850i with xenon, and the flash completely over-exposes the photo because of the white dinner plates reflecting light.

@mode: Your photo above with a little bit of the white plate showing doesn't look too bad. Got anymore?

@kickling

Welcome to Esato There are some food on a white plate macro examples in the first post on this thread. Here's another one

From my observation, I've always felt quite edgy when taking macro shots on white backgrounds due to the same concern you have since the LED flash on W995 is quite powerful. But it seems like there's some sort of a flash intensity control mechanism that wouldn't likely overexpose such shots meaning it only emits as much light needed for its distance from the subject

@mode: thanks for the photo, it tells me that there's still a big gap between camera phones and real cameras in terms of using the flash on white objects. Your photo looks to be less 'flashed out' than what I normally get probably because your flash isn't as powerful as my xenon. The downside of the W995's LED flash is taking photos in a pitch black room (e.g. nightclub) ... would you be able to take a photo in a pitch black room for me? Similar to the one you had in your computer room at home, but needs to be 100% dark.

There are a lot of great photos taken, but all the photos are in the daylight - I can't pick any difference between what I would normally take during the day against 5MP photos with my K850i ... it's time for me to upgrade my phone (mobile contract expiring) but it's hard for me to justify getting the W995 when my K850i performs just as well.

(also @mode: did I see a photo of Tesco in your previous posts?! which one was that, near Taiping?)

Here's two photos from my K850 (I grabbed them from my facebook so they were automatically resized). I know that they look good when resized smaller, but I think they are very comparable to some of the W995 ones up here ... SHOULD I UPGRADE TO THE W995 ??!

I Don't know!
