Camera capabilities and PMP really don't mix...

WTF?It seems it fixed the slider problem itself!!!
Maybe it expanded because of the high temp here!

Maybe SE heard your voice and did a OTA fix to your phone. Add this as another cool feature for W995. |

The problem appears and disappears...So what shall I do? Sent it to be fixed and wait for a month hoping that they are not gonna ruin my slider completely or stay with that and try to tell my self that's how it is?
And still I am not sure if that's normal or not

You can't really notice the slider issue if it wobbles slighlty, i never realised my old W850 did it until i tried to c if it did yesterday |

The phone, itself, if pretty good and so's the media player.
The 8mb pix camera was taken from the Cybershot series but something happened along the way!
Faraway shots are blurred as well as night shots! The Cybershot cameras don't have these problems!
Who'd watch a video on a small screen anyway?! It's a gimmick, pure and simple!
Besides, MediaGo software Sucks as SE makes THE WORST media software for their phones!
Use a 3d party software for video conversion then drag n drop directly into phone's media card!
It's really too bad but the primary features, phone and media player, works well!
Also too bad that it's overpriced!!

Sony Ericsson is trying to make W995 as close as a PMP. However, the W995 is still unable to reach the standard. The video playback and camera capabilities are the weaknesses of the phone.

Mine shakes on the bottom left when closed, too. My phone is 4 days old. |

My previous w595 had the wobbles too. Why can't they build something simple like a solid slide

Because it's nigh impossible to do. My Innov8's slide also wobbles slightly and it's a Samsung, a manufacturer known for making 8 sliders out of every 10 phones they release. |

Its not impossible the Nokia 6500 slide is dead solid as are some of their expensive slide phones like the 8800 range. Samsung is known for quality build

Of course it's not impossible, but it's quite hard to do QC on every single unit especially just to check that part of the unit. Which is why I got quite disappointed with the wobble on the Innov8. |

You may bring it back to your phone shop with your receipt since it's relatively new.
Ask if they can either repair it or offer an exchange for a new one.
Hope it works out!

So I have my black w995 for a week now. So far no problems with the firmware, love the phone but the slider isn't perfect. So many reviews say that the slider mechanism doesn't wobble even a bit but mine does. I will survive as I used to have a n95-1 which has the crappiest slider ever. Do all w995's wobble just a bit at the left bottom corner when closed (compared to the right) and when open the part of the slider (where's the D-pad and the screen) travels just a bit to the right or they are completely solid and fixed at those positions?? How's your guys? Need to know cause I suddenly don't feel I made the right choice...

No wobbles on my side, its solid!!!
Although im worried about the stand lever at the back... not a problem but it should have had a "click" just to keep it in place.
Overall excellent build quality.
the w995 i tried was just super solid....best Slider i ever tried. (haven't tried Nokia N86 yet (the only Slider i can think about who maybe is more solid)

@ plankgatan
I think mine was just like that when I bought it and I am afraid that it became loose after normal usage. The phone's great but that thing is bugging me!!! I WAS happy when I bought it...

My cousin has it for 2 months now and I have to admit that it has one of the best slider ever. that's what I call SOLID. I tried to find a flaw but i couldn't. And then was when I felt really dissapointed.. A mid-range phone had better built quality than a flagship.. Moreover it's strange that the same phone can differ in such an important factor as the QUALITY. There are w995 with solid sliders and some others that wobble. And what can you say? Give me a new one because mine wobbles a bit compared to another one I tried? (a bit but still is annoying)
