Hi to all,

I was wondering if there is a way to make the applications that are designed to use the cellular data packet to use the wifi?

I own a C905 with the lates firmware (smile shutter, youtube, snapfish, etc.) and I would like to use the gps, youtube and othe apps with the Wifi intead of spending my "air time o minutes" o data transfer.

Thanks.

i dont have a c905, so i am just speculating this....

first tel me how you use wifi on a c905...

if you can go to data accounts or if you can have an wifi profile in internet settings, then you can use apps with wifi....
so how you use wifi with c905?
humour is what makes me laugh...

The Sony Ericsson c905 has integrated Wifi, therefore I can browse the internet from my phone on any wireless hotspot.

And now, Im looking to see if there is anyway I can trick the apps that use the internet settings from my provider to use the wireless hotspot intead of the "data account".

I have been able to use google maps... with WIFI...

You need to connect your wifi to your router... and then use the apps

Be aware... if you loose wifi connection then you will end up using data...

Hope this helps

Cheers

The way I connect the internet is that 1rst I go to WIFI, select and available network (or my home wifi) and then I go to the browser.

Google maps can use the WIFI connection and indeed if I loose the wifi signal will start using data..

But, what about other apps like youtube, "NearMe", PhotoMate, PositMe, Vringo, vTap, Yahoo! Go, Opera Mini that they always ask to connect to cellular data before connecting. I would like to know if there is a way to make this apps use the built in wifi?
