If you have a Blackberry account then you don't need to enter any settings. If you don't have an account then you enter the details into Options/ Advanced options/ TCP/IP Settings |

i have already done that thx anyway., what i can't find is where to set the proxy ...

As far as I am aware there is no way to set a proxy on a blackberry.

most of the providers, use a proxy server, so there must be a way to configure it. plus your phone can't guess the ip of the apn itself, unless you have a dns server IP

I am thinking of getting a Blackberry but I dont want to use my service provider's (AirTel, India) blackberry mail or data plans...so can I use the ordinary gprs plans of my service provider to browse / check mails and chat
pls help....thanks
