^^ I think you can't do that with your K800 because the aperture is constant (f2.8, big indeed).
So, even if you set ISO @ 50, then shutterspeed @ 2 sec., you will get a overexposed pic.

Just a thought though...

iso is sensitivity, and aperture is amount of light, so if the aperture is constant, then a fixed amount of light is entering the camera, right? if i use slow shutter speed, the amount of light entering = aperture X exposure okay? now, if i use low iso[proportional to shutter speed], then the intensity of the light will be reduced, but still the same amount of light will be entering, so theoraticaly it isn't the same as aperture control, but the pic is somewhat similar to lower f-number shutter speed combinations. slight exposure variations exist, but they dont destroy the pic. the pic is still okay!
cause there will be slight amounts of extra light in your picture, you can adjust that with post processing!

atleast that's what i can achieve under good conditions, if its bright light, forget it!!! dont even think about playing and researching! man, i miss aperture control!

i'm really trying hard to do what i'm saying and get that kind of a picture! but it's difficult! but not impossible!!! [or atleast that's what i'm supposed to say! ]

if you want to capture motion blur you have to extend exposure time but you cannot do this without massive overexposure. fixed or not aperture is a big problem and you won't be able to compensate it using low ISO. digital camera user will just buy ND filter and problem will be solved, great solution but of course not for cameraphone

plankgatan ---> nice pic!!! see, thats why i mentioned a nikon earlier!!! the pic would have looked too BEAUTIFULL if we could adjust the aperture and have the shutter speed like 2sec... the water would look lovely flowing... BUT, a very VERY nice pic indeed! keep up plankgatan.
PS- what's ur job?

i sort of been travelling around quite much, (mostly climbing/skiing places in Asia, Europe, etc).....right now i finish my engineer education.

@Coolharsh

0.3 - 0.5 seconds is sufficient to create blurred/silky water. 2 Seconds makes it look less like water and more like smoke or mist.

@Raiderski

I am not above using filters in front of my cameraphone, especially the circular polariser! Also, thank you for your comment on Flickr I just realised who you were

cyber-shooter ---> you're welcome!

plankgatan ---> kool!!! so you've been to quite some places! and your pics ARE interesting... looking forward to your entries! and yes, NAMASTE!

frankthetank ---> yes! i am aware! different water speed will require different shutter speeds! but how to compensate for the overexposure??? in low-light conditions, it is easy to acquire blur with raider 6.6, but in daylight???

raider ---> hardware limitations!!! frustations!!!i think i'l get a new SE sensations!!!
common, there must some turn-around for this... any idea how we might get blur in daylight? even if it is slightly under-exposed? or just a slight blur? diff combi of ISO - EV - shutterspeed???

i think this discussion better be continued in ur driver thread.
see u there.

"short life of droplet"
not edited, manual focus, shutter speed and ISO used
encountered problems are lack of synchronization, poor depth of field and overall sharpness, possible to freeze only with flash which kills small details
