Time for another one of those rumors. If a little birdie at SlashPhone is to be believed, we can expect Samsung to extend its Omnia line-up again.
The latest addition would come in the form of the Omnia Pro. This happens to be the same Omnia we have now, but will add a sliding QWERTY keyboard, a WVGA touchscreen with 3.5' real estate and a 5-megapixel camera. First reports of the device came from an Italian Samsung-oriented blog.

As of now, the phone will use Windows Mobile 6.1 but will be upgradeable to the upcoming Windows Mobile 6.5. It will as expected use Samsung's proprietary "TouchWiz" interface above the core OS. This one might see the light of the day in fourth quarter of 2009.
Going by Samsung's recent history, we have reason to believe this rumor. The company has been aggressively launching new products across all categories. Be it the high volume, low-end or the high-end segment in which the Omnia falls. It has also been concentrating on touchscreen devices of late.
