K850i BROD Updated: It flashed back to Voda FW...help |

So I've been quite unlucky in the past few weeks. My camera button broke, I fixed it and now I have BROD. I took the battery, sim and m2 card out when I put them back in, BROD.
Not very happy at all, how can SE realise a phone with a common problem like this?
Anyway I know there are a few threads, but I just wanted to ask 2 quick questions. You can now fix it with SEUS correct? Well how do you do it. Like do you have to hold down the 'c' button I just don't understand how it works when the phone has BROD and you plug it in. Secondly, I was on generic R1FA035 when this happend. Should I go back down to R1DA038 (as that is the FW before BROD occurred)?
thanks

Hey, first of all just let SEUS update the latest firmware, its been verified that ALL firmwares can get a brod-attack.
Go to www.sonyericsson.com go to Support and find the Sony Ericsson update tool.
1. Download and install and let SEUS update itself
2. Choose your phone type and model
3. Take out the battery and put it back in without turning on your phone.
4. Hold the C-Button while you plug in the USB-cable (only do this when they ask you too)
5. Stop pressing the C button when they tell you too.
6. SEUS will tell you you already have the latest firmware, click on Continue Anyway
7. Let SEUS do all the magic and lets hope your phone will live again. |

adsada yes updating/re-installing the software on s.e website will fix the brod. trust me i have had at least 4 now over the past 2 months.
thats the best way to temporarily fix it, until it happens again. |

Killfr3nzy, thanks for the list of what to do it should help me
and Mr Miyagi cheers also! I hope I can mange to fix it, but do I need to install any drivers and my laptop sometimes crashes. If it crashed during a flashing would this kill my phone for good or could I just reflash it?
thanks

Update: Okay this is very odd
I did it on SEUS all fine followed instuctions when it told me my FW was already updated I clicked continue anyway. Then once it was comlete I turned on my phone I realised it is now branded to Vodafone!
I originally had it on Vodafone FW but last month I updated it to the generic SE FW using TotalGSM. I am really confused how did it go back to Voda??? I thought it would just reflash to Generic...
So that is 10 Euros down the drain...well I'm at least happy it is working again
Can someone explain please,
Thanks

HI, I just read your topic, here is what you can do to get out the voda branding the proper way:
download www.davinciteam.com/client.zip , our client.exe software, and run it.
I send you 10 credits (enough for 1 debrand) via PM
Even if you use SEUS again in the future, it will not go back to voda branding becuase it will be debranded the proper way. |
