Sana magustuhan nyo. Share ko lang kung pano magcustomize ng icons ng favorite nyong application. Ok lets start.
We're going to use Photoshop 7 or higher, and basic computer operations.
STEPS:
1. First thing first, Goto > Windows Explorer(My Computer, or My Documents, or any folder). On the Menu Bar > Tools > Folder Options > View tab > Advance Settings. Scroll down and find the "Hide extensions for known file types-OFF", uncheck the square box to set it OFF and click OK. (See Figure A and B)
2. Now locate the application you want to customize, for this lets edit Uzzap Valentine, right click it and select "Rename", change the "jar" to "zip". Right click it again and now select "Extract All..." (See Figure C and D)
3. Find the icon of the application you want to change, as for Uzzap, its under Themes > default. (See Figure E)
4. Let's say the Logo when the application starts up, the filename is "logo-large.png".
5. Now open "logo-large.png" at Photoshop, I'm using Photoshop CS2, any version of Photoshop 7 or higher will do. (See Figure G)
6. I want you to show the Layers Pallete, its under Photoshop Menu Bar > Windows > Layers. or simply press F7. (See Figure I)
7. Now as you can see (See Figure G) the checkered background of the image Uzzap Beta is the area where it is transparent; and under Layers Pallete it is named as "index". and its locked.
8. To edit it, goto the Menu bar > Image > Mode > RGB Color; and the "index" name will become "Layer 1" (See Figure H)
9. Now open the any picture, Im gonna use my picture, (See Figure J). Using the Layers Pallete, drag the layer "Background" to the window of logo-large.png. (See Figure K).
10. Depending on the picture you used, it may be large nor small enough to fit on the window of "logo-large", press Ctrl+T, to transform or resize the picture, you can see it has a border box to grip, while holding the Shift key, simply resize the picture. (See Figure L)
*Note: It may be tricky to resize it, practise it and you'll get use to it.
11. On the Layers Pallete again, click the "Layer 1" that is Uzzap Beta picture, click the trash can icon, "Delete Layer" (See Figure M)
12. Im now assuming that your satisfied with your image, referring to Figure H, click "Indexed Color.."; follow the settings in Figure N, and click OK. Ctrl+S to save it.
13. Lets edit the other images, in Figure F, open the "000-smart-small.png" and "000-smart-large.png" in Photoshop. Respectively they are named in the Layers Pallete as "Layer 0". (See Figure O)
14. As you can see in the Layers Pallete, it is not locked, so were not going to change the color Mode. (Refer to Step 8) Now open any pictures you want, referring to Step J and K procedure, then resize it (Refer to Step 10). See Figure P as for the reference, the "000-smart-small.png" your image must be resized to small, and "000-smart-large.png" your image must be resized to large.
15. Once done, referring to Figure Q, click the little tiny circle button, and click Flatten Image, or going to Menu Bar > Layer > Flatten Image. It will be named as "Background" in the Layers Pallete. (See Figure R)
16. On the Layers Pallete again, double click the text "Background" and it will pop a window shown in Figure S. Leave the name and everything, then click OK. Hit Ctrl+S to save and we're done using Photoshop.
17. Going back to the directory of your extracted folder of Uzzap Valentine, highlight all the files, right click it and Send To > Compressed (zipped folder). (See Figure T) Once completely compressed or zipped file,(See Figure U) right click it again and rename it to any filename you want, followed by the file extension of "jar", and you will be prompted like Figure V, click yes.
18. Shown in Figure W, and you have just created your modded application.
Thats it for the ride, thanks for patiently reading.
