SmartVas was the best but it just disappeared. There was no delay in receiving messages as it made use of TCP CIR so the messages were truly instant.
Don't know which is the best one now, one that can be used with the built in IM client.

mobjab.net (the one for gmail stuff) is the best
the mobjab.mobi is crap, very slow and loads my entire contacts list.
Yamigo is slow and unreliable.
The others, I've never heard of it before.
