Could someone post a guide/tutorial of how to install a flash menu to an A2(C905 for me) phone?

And 1 question.. By saying "Flashing the phone" what do we mean?

Thanks in advance,
Steven.

1. Open A2 and click on the Filesystem button
2. Follow the instructions onthe bottom of the screen concerning connection of the phone.
3. Navigate to "\\\\tpa\\\\preset\\\\system\\\\desktop\\\\flash" this is where the .swf part of the menu should be uploaded.
4. Put the .swf files there by dragging them into the A2 uploader window.
5. Shutdown the File System!!!
6. Disconnect your phone, remove the battery, reinsert the battery and turn on the phone.
7. Connect the phone again to upload the .thm files, for this step do not use A2, do as you would when uploading any normal file e.g. mp3 etc (a normal browser window).
8. The .thm files go in the themes folder.
9. Disconnect your phone and try out your new themes!!

!!!Not a particularly dangerous operation, but please exercise caution and follow instructions!!!

Hope this helps

Wuuu! A lot! Thanks!
But hey, do I need to have the identical flash menu and theme in order for it (menu) to work?

And 1 more important question! I 've seen in several flash themes I've downloaded, that the letters above the icons are like "MESSAGES_TXT" as for messages or "PLAY_NOW_TXT" for PlayNow.. Will they change back to "normal" when installed or I need to edit them myself?

Thanks again,
Steven.

Yes, the flash menus have to be associated with the themes as far as i know, otherwise when you change theme you will end up with generic menu..

As concerns you other question, I do not modify themes myself so i can not be sure. Is it possible that this is a feature of the theme and is done on purpose?

Someone who knows something about the creation of themes may come along...

Always happy to help

Hello, as for you second question; No, you the MESSAGES_TXT etc. is only displayed on the PC, when you open it on your phone it'll show you the right menutitle.

Btw, here are some flash menus :

http://www.se4ever.ru/flash/flash_lite_2_1_a200/
http://www.trekker-reactor.is[....]rver.com/se-stuff/flash-menus/

or Topse.ru
Be sure to check if they are compatible with the c905 (stated in the site)

Hey, I did the exact things you told me, I put it successfully, then uploaded the .thm file too in the phone, but it didn't work..

PS1: I tried it with a friend's phone, SE w910i.
PS2: If I rename both files like from "Flash_desktop.swf" and "Flash.thm" to "Flash1.swf" and "Flash1.thm", you think this is why they didn't work?
PS3: I need to "Flash" the phone 1st before installing them?

Oh and the phone was debranded..

Thanks again,
Steven.

You may need to unpack the theme, adn locate the .xml file and edit it in there.
here is a website which is 100% helpful.
http://www.trekker-reactor.is[....]se-stuff/flash-menu-tutorials/
Plus you can put any menu to any theme.

Hey Steven,

NEVER change the title of the SWF file, the THM file doensn't matter.

Anyways, open the THM file with Notepad (right click > open with>) then click control+F and type in "swf", you will find a code with something like "desktop style blabla=Name.swf" if you did find that, rename the SWF to whats in the notepad!

Btw, what flashmenu did you try to download, what is the link?

First off upload the flash menu to your phone with A2Uploader to this directory /tpa/preset/system/desktop/flash and note down the name of it.
Then you need Sony Ericsson Theme Creator which you can download from http://developer.sonyericsson[....]ls/multimedia/p_multimedia.jsp then install and run it.
Drag the theme you wish to use onto the main window and once it loads at the top click Tools/Edit XML.
Scroll all the way to the bottom and add this line above the bit where it says

Delete where it says YOUR FLASH MENU NAME and type in the name of your flash menu.
Remember to put it above the last line that says
then save your theme, put the theme on your phone and it should work.

No mvf4, don't delete the exising ones, just add the ones you want, the existing ones are for the default themes on your phone like Red Carpet etc...
