hello everyone, i wanna buy a new digicam and have narrowed my choices to the following
Samsung D760-7.2MP
Samsung D860-8.1MP
Samsung S860-8.1MP
Panasonic Lumix DMC LS80-8.0MP
Panasonic Lumix DMC LZ8-8.3MP
Sony DSC S730-7.2MP
Nikon Coolpix L16-8.0MP
Kodak Easyshare C813-8.2MP

i have read on many websites that pixel size doesn't really matter.
Does ISO play a very important role in a digicam?

have you guys had any experience with any of the model listed above?
please tell me which one i should buy and why?

-Rishi

ISO does have an important role in a camera, I suggest you read up on it on google before you purchase.

I'd get the Kodak, I have a very similar model and it's awesome, snaps very quickly, has multiple photo options and does quick transferring as well.

ISO is important, as Neo-Tech said, however, in pocket cameras with small sensors, the importance isn't as great.
Example - at ISO 800, on a APS-C or 35mm sensor, you will get a lot of sensitivity, and the quality of the photo won't suffer much.
But at the same ISO on a small sensor, your photo will suffer from noise - graining.
My TZ3 can't take a decent photo in the dark at anything above ISO 800!
So really, unless the camera has an amazing processor, then its ability to go up to ISO 3200 or whatever, isn't really key.
You're best off finding some reviews that focus on low light performance.

Most compact digicams have sensors the same size as mobile phones they are ccd but still loading masses of megapixels on it degrades the quality and creates noise, i have the samsung s860 image quality is rubbish even noise in iso80 and over powerful noise reduction and fringing, i prefer the pics by my C702 outdoor shots the C702 captures more detail dont look as processed and no fringing. Try looking at the older digicams with less megapixels i mean will you ever use above 4? Check the sensor sizes aswell normally there on the spec sheets the bigger the better.
