The V640i is more or less Vodafones version of the K630

If you wanna a cheap fairly easy phone to use with a decent camera & great sound then the V640i is the one to get.

4 - Detailed Features

4.1 Media Player

***Located Under Main Menu.***

The Media Player allows you to view pictures, play music & play videos.

You can even view it by portrait or landscape

It's well set out with some themes (known as flash themes) changing the look & feel for example the Clarity theme which makes it look like a glass media player which is very professional.

The pictures have a good service type application inbuilt into the media player called XPicT Story which is like a slideshow feature.

It has mood settings like Happy which plays a slideshow of your pictures with Happy music & cool changing affects.

You can even play your own music & run XPicT Story so it does a slide show with your music playing & affects on the pictures.

Another great thing about the media player is the ability to minimize it while playing music so you can play a game or txt on your V640i while listening to music but this does slow the V640i down a little.

When using earphones it is very loud.

When playing music out the V640i's main speaker (located on the back next to the camera.) on full volume its quite loud but not as loud as the headphones.

4.2 - Games & Applications

***Located Under Main Menu - Entertainment.***

The V640i runs Java files (.Jar & .JAD) with screen size being 176x220

There are LOADS of games for the V640i (when downloading games just choose ones with screen size 176x220 & it should go fine).

The downside is the screen size changer which allows you to have the games at a smaller screen size but this cuts bits out which isn't very good so not really worth it.

4.3 - TrackID

***Located Under Main Menu - Entertainment.***

TrackID is a service powered by Gracenote.

It allows you to play around 10secs of music from a external source or the V640i's radio then connects to a online service which tells you the name of the song, artist & the album. (The TrackID service is free but your operater may charge for data costs).

4.4 - VideoDJ

***Located Under Main Menu - Entertainment.***

The VideoDJ is another great addition which allows you to cut full video clips (like 3mins), down to smaller clips (like 20secs). Plus you can mix clips together, add transitions (such as fade & wipe), add text & theres more

4.5 - PhotoDJ

***Located Under Main Menu - Entertainment.***

The PhotoDJ is like VideoDJ but allows you to edit .jpg files.

You can add affects like frames, text & clipart.

Change the colour affect of the photo for example change it to black & white.

Plus there are a few more great features.

4.6 - FM Radio With RDS

***Located Under Main Menu.***

You can listen to the FM Radio directly on your V640i however this is a somewhat downside but you do need to have a handsfree attached as it acts as a antenna.

4.7 - 3G & HSDPA

This allows you to browse, download & upload faster then GSM

HSDPA is like boardband on your V640i.

Plus with 3G & the V640i you can also Video Call other 3G mobiles*

The 3G camera can be found on the front of the V640i

*you will need to be in 3G coverage to use 3G.

5 - Overall Rating: 9/10

Reason For Rating: Great phone for its price but no flash on the camera.

6 - Pictures Taken With The V640i

Here is what pictures taken with the V640i look like...

This is a HUGE ship that was at Napier port, New Zealand.

I just had to stop to get a photo it was huge & my V640i just doesn't show its full size.

this one it was taken in Napier also.

I call it the nosebleed shot i'm 3 or 4 stories high.

Or this one which is a pigeon but can be mistaken for a dove (Photo was made to look nicer using the V640i photo fix feature which is built into the phone).
