TMN, the major portuguese mobile operator, is going to test the new HSPA+ standard in the beginning of February jointly with Ericsson E///.
This may ramp-up the comercial launch of this technology by the end of the year.
HSPA+ is an evolution of what is known as 3,5G, that currently offers 7,2 Mbps speed.
TMN will be one of the first companies in the world to perform tests with this technology that takes advantage of 64 QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) that supports speeds up to 21 Mbps.
