I am experiencing lack of signal on my X1 on the o2 network.

I have been on o2 for several years and on several phones, I have experienced this problem before on my P1i. I fixed after I found that the drops seemed to be when the phone was switching to different bands (2g-3g etc) So on my P1i I switched it to just GSM, and then the signal was stable and always had a high signal strength.

Does anyone else have this problem with their X1, and if so... can they please advise which setting would be best to rectify the situation

Thanks [addsig]

No problem here with X1i on O2, at my house the HSDPA signal is not always strong so it switches between H and G and never had a dropped call.

I work around Cheshire, mostly in out of the way places, and, I will say, the signal strength meter is always less than my colleagues, also on 02.

Having said that, I have never had a call break up on me, always clear audio. I have not yet found a place where i get no signal at all.

To sum up, i think it is just the strength meter being more accurate than some other phones.

@ grizlore
I find the signal on my X1 is appalling compared with my P1. I hardly used to lose my signal ever with my P1 at home, maybe sometimes if I went downstairs (which was below street level). However, with my X1 all I have to do is pick the phone up, and sometimes that alone causes my signal to drop and then it's all downhill from there. However, it's fine when I'm out and about.

I am Also suffering from dropped calls and crap signal. My n95 has full reception where the x1 only has like 1 or 2 bars.
