I have one quite simple question:
How are album art pictures stored in C702? I have problems running Media Manager, who should do all the work (blue screen of death when I run Media Manager with phone connected...really nice).
I sync through WMP11. I can see album art in WMP, but it's not transferred to the phone. I've tried to embed album art into tracks directly (advanced tag editor in WMP, but image isn't there even when I close tag editor window and open it again...)

I've tried to copy album art manually, but didn't work.

Any ideas?

hi

the album art(a jpg image) should be stored at the same folder the album is.

I know, but what should be filename/size etc...?
I read somewhere that it's best when it's exactly rectangular and not so big image - I've tried 200x200px jpg, without success..

Unfortunately, Ericsson's media player doesn't pict that up...

I managed once to run Media Manager and really transfer something to my phone and that time I had cover image in the player. Unfornutaley I've deleted that album without checking where the image was stored...

C702 doesn't have Walkman software, just Media menu (video/audio/feeds/games...)

Hmm...... I use WMP 11 to sync files to my C702 and its working perfectly with album art.
This is a long shot, but maybe worth a try. Format the M2 card in the phone first, this creates a (hidden) file called: default-capability.xml on the M2 card, and I think WMP reads that album art is supported from that xlm file. And then try with WMP again.
Album art is stored in the MP3 tag so you dont see any other files in that folder on the M2 card.

Another thing you can try is to edit the MP3 tags and album art with Real Player, and then use WMP 11 for sync to the C702 (this is what I usally do).

Hope it helps.

I do this in iTunes, so I just drag the picture over the song. I found out that, atleast for me, the picture size can't exceed ~50KB... If it does you will just have a black square. I don't think there's a pixel limit, if so I haven't encountered it yet.

IRON, could you post your default-compatibility.xml just for comparison?
I have tried to take everything our from card and than format it and transfer some music, without success.

Do your WMP11-tracks appear as MP3 in phone, or as WMA?

Whe I copy MP3 through Explorer, album art is there!
When I set in Options->Devices->C702... ->Quality some quality level, it causes the track to be converted to WMA before transfer to phone. That is the end of cover... I guess there is no way to go around this.. except leaving tracks in MP3 format

No conversion, I always use MP3īs.
If i understand you correctly you wanna use WMA instead of MP3?
Thats probaly the solution of your problem, Album art is not embedded in WMA files (I never use WMA so I cant tell you for sure).

Edit: Tried to post the default-capability.xml, but for some reason everything got messed up when it was posted here as txt.

I guess that's the "end of the story" thing, stupid WMA can't add album art

Doesn't matter, I will either use MP3, or if I'll want to put smaller tracks in my phone, I'll use WMA without album art.

thanks for help!
