You might need to be more specific, as there are numerous version of the 8800

1. original 8800
2. 8800 Sirocco
3. 8800 arte (and variants)

These instruction are for the original 8800, but all are similar

The lens is glass and is attached to the metal body of the 8800 by very thin (and strong) double sided tape.

To replace it will depend on what state the original is. I replaced one for a friend recently, as he had physically broken the screen. This made it easy, as I could easily remove the broken glass from the front, then cleaned off the residue glue from the original screen adhesive, and then simply attached the new one.

If you can't do this, then you have 2 options, either, very carefully use a jewellers flat driver to prise the screen off, be VERY careful not to mark the case (if that matters to you)

or

you need to crack the case open.

When you slide the phone open on the reverse of the screen (where the camera lens is) the dark cover that looks metal is simply an adhesive sheet, covering the mounting screws. If you are careful you can remove and reuse it, but unless you are very careful it will bend.

You can get replacement ones here for the original 8800

Hope that helps
